Cois Nore (Kilkenny) provide important support for those diagnosed with cancer as well as their families. I'm proud to be supporting their fundraising efforts by taking part in a candlelight concert In St. Mary's Cathedral, Kilkenny on Novemeber 1st. Please come along and show your solidarity as well! The Cois Nore Candlelight Concert will be taking place this year on Saturday 1st of November in St. Mary's Cathedral at 8pm.
There will be performances Niamh Sheehy Soprano , Cois Nore Choir and Joe Roche Tenor with more to be announced.

My friend Eoghan is doing some great work through Music Generation in Dublin, backed by U2 no less! Eoghan is a fantastic musician in his own right, and using his skill as a music therapist and huge generosity of spirit to improve the lives of the kids he's working with. Watching this would give anyone a lift! 🥰

I had the pleasure of beginning a series of Music Therapy sessions at Fethard and District Daycare Centre this week. The atmosphere is so warm, so welcoming, and the lovely folks there shared their songs and stories in a friendly and supportive environment. Thanks to Mairead, Alan and everyone who makes this such a valuable resource to the Fethard area - I'm looking forward to continuing the work over the coming weeks. Thanks also to Creative Ireland for providing the funding for the sessions.

I'm currently providing music therapy for young children with complex needs at St. Patrick's Special School, Kilkenny. The staff are incredibly attentive to the needs of the students, and the management team create an environment that supports the wellbeing and job satisfaction of the teachers and SNAs, some of whom have been working there for over twenty years. And the kids are just wonderful!

South Tipperary Hospice Movement are doing a press blitz to make people aware of the music therapy service they are funding for people with life-limiting illness and their families. The service aims to improve quality of life for those facing this immense challenge, and to develop coping strategies for chronic pain, depression, and anxiety. Trying to make sense of a life lived, the joys and sorrows, fond memories and regrets is not a simple task. Music can create a canvas that allows us to view ourselves, our relationships and accomplishments in ways that make sense on a deeper level, providing comfort and reassurance when it's needed most. Please share with anyone you know in the South Tipp area who is caring for someone with life-limiting illness, or with the person themselves. The South Tipperary Hospice Movement will generously support the provision of this service to those in need.
