This evening we had the honour of unveiling Rocco’s Bench at Ned’s Point. 💙

It brings us great pride and comfort as a family to know that this beautiful place can now be enjoyed by everyone, while also standing as a lasting tribute to our beautiful Rocco.

We would like to sincerely thank local councillors Joy Beard, Jack Murray, Fionán Bradley, and Pádraig Mac Lochlainn TD for their generous support through council funding.

A special word of thanks to the local roads team from Donegal County Council for their fantastic work in creating a fully accessible seating area, allowing all visitors to take in the stunning views across Lough Swilly.

We are also deeply grateful to Buncrana Tidy Towns for their help in securing funding and bringing this project to life.

Thank you to Martin Mc Dermott, Cathaoirleach/Mayor of the Inishowen Municipal District, for joining us on such an important occasion.

Ned’s Point held a very special place in Rocco’s heart and we hope that everyone who stops and rests here at his beautiful bench remembers him and the joy he brought to us all through his love of life. 💙

We never in a million years when we set out planning a night to remember Rocco on his 18th Birthday, did we think that we would end up helping and donating so much money in Rocco’s Memory from The Charity Ball but we are honestly blown away by the total amount that was raised and we can reveal that …

⭐ €26,680 ⭐

Was the total amount raised in Rocco’s Memory and all of which has been donated in his Name to so many worthy causes, and for that we are so grateful and thankful to each and every person or business who donated, sponsored, bought tickets or helped us in any way possible to make Rocco’s 18th Birthday Ball a huge success, and without the help we received it just would not have been possible to make the night such a success, so from the bottom of all our hearts, THANK YOU! 💙

Rocco’s 18th Birthday Ball was set up to remember a fabulous young man Mr Rocco Mc Ginley on his 18th Birthday, and to maybe try raise a little bit of money to give back to the charities who helped Rocco and his family during his illness and cancer journey, and although we did that … and we raised more than we ever thought was possible, we know that Rocco’s family will forever carry the heartbreak of losing their beautiful Son, Brother, Grandchild and Nephew and nothing will ever ease that pain for them, and it’s so very bittersweet for them, to now be donating money to charities who tried so very hard to help and save Rocco from such a cruel disease. 💔

Rocco will never be forgotten, he left an imprint in each and every person he came in contact with and weren’t we all so very privileged to have known him. 💙

Aoibheann's Pink Tie Another amazing charity who the Mc Ginley family were absolutely delighted to have been able to donate €5180 to in Rocco’s Memory, all proceeds from the Rocco Mc Ginley Charity Ball 💙

The help and support that Aoibheann’s Pink Tie gives to family’s who have children diagnosed with a childhood cancer is unbelievable and they deserve so much thanks and recognition for what they do, so thank you again 💙

There are 3 families in particular in Donegal right now with sick Children and Yvonne and Wade would like to help them with their journey, so they will all receive €1000 each and the last of the proceeds of Rocco’s 18th Ball.💙

Rocco’s Family were absolutely delighted to be able to donate €10,000 to The Gavin Glynn Foundation in Rocco’s name from proceeds of the Rocco’s 18th Birthday Charity Ball.

The Gavin Glynn Foundation were such a support and help to Rocco and the Mc Ginley Family during Rocco’s illness, and they will never be able to repay the kindness that John and The Gavin Glynn foundation showed to them when they needed it the most and when they didn’t know who to turn too. 💙

We will get the last of the proceeds from the Rocco Mc Ginley Charity Ball out to the remaining charities in the next few weeks.

Rocco’s Mum Yvonne and Dad Wade were just over the moon to make this very special delivery to The Paediatric Ward in Letterkenny Hospital to staff members, Ward Sister Katrina and Play Therapist Violet.
€1500 worth of toys were purchased from a Wishlist and were donated from Rocco’s 18th Birthday Charity Ball 💙

We hope to get the last of the proceeds from The Rocco Mc Ginley 18th Charity Ball out the remaining charities in the next couple of weeks.

Rocco’s Dad Wade brother Cooper and sister Winter Lily had the pleasure of handing over €2000 to Patricia Ferguson of Buncrana's Children’s Charity yesterday, proceeds from the Rocco’s 18th Birthday Charity Ball. 💙

We wish Buncrana’s Children’s Charity every success tonight with there annual Charity Ball and thank them all for the amazing work they do in our community helping so many families.

Over the coming weeks Rocco’s Family will be handing over the remainder of the proceeds from the Charity Ball to the rest of the amazing charities. 💙

Today Rocco’s Mum Yvonne, Dad Wade and sisters Arya & Bodhi had the absolute pleasure of handing over €5000 to Principal Sinead Mc Laughlin of Scoil Íosagáin Buncrana, for Scoil Iosagain’s New Sensory Room, proceeds from the Rocco’s 18th Birthday Charity Ball. 💙

Over the coming weeks, Rocco’s Family will be handing over the remainder of the proceeds from the Charity Ball to the rest of the amazing charity’s.

This Lady Ni Dhomhnaill Cate from Luxury Bespoke Decor just blew us all away on Friday night and she deserves so much recognition for what she did and thanks!! ☺️

Through talking to Yvonne, Wade and Rocco’s family over the last few weeks, Catherine got what they were saying and knew exactly what they needed, without them even knowing it themselves and she made sure that Rocco’s personality was felt and was woven into every little detail of Rocco’s 18th Charity Ball and her attention to detail just blew us all away 🥰

Catherine not only are you amazing at your job, your infectious personality and smile puts everyone you come in contact with at ease from the minute you meet them and you listen and care.

We cannot thank you enough for what you did and how through your decor captured Rocco’s essence and brought his presence into the room making sure that even in his absence he was felt in every corner 💙

As someone said on the night, “that girl, is just Pure of Heart” and Catherine we wish you every success in your future, you really are fabulous ….
