New Year, New Me?
January arrives and, after plenty of good food and drink, many of us feel ready to get back on track. Maybe you want to shake off that sluggish feeling, or maybe this is the year you finally do something you’ve never done before.
Sound familiar?
If so, it sounds like you’re ready to take action 💪
The first step is setting a goal – and setting it well. Here are a few tips to help:
Tip 1: Make it attainable
Thinking big is great, but your goal needs to fit into real life. Make sure the training or commitment works around family, work and everything else you have going on.
We’re actually big fans of thinking small (sounds strange, we know!). A simple, sustainable habit can be life-changing. Something like a 30-minute walk every day may not be a marathon, but it’s a habit you can keep for life — and that’s where real change happens.
Tip 2: Give yourself time
Very rarely does everything go perfectly. Build in some flexibility and allow for a few bumps in the road when setting your timeline.
Tip 3: Break it down
Set mini-milestones along the way. Small wins add up, and ticking them off as the weeks go by keeps motivation high.
Tip 4: Plan for obstacles
What stopped you reaching your goals before? Write down what you’ll do when things don’t go to plan.
For example: If I get injured, I’ll see a physio and get back on track.
So there you have it — set the goal, plan for real life, and take that first step.
Here’s to achieving your goals and making 2026 a healthier, happier you ✨
