🌿 Clocks Spring Forward – A Gentle Reset for Body & Mind 🌿
As the clocks go forward this weekend, we lose an hour… but gain lighter evenings and a sense of renewal ✨
In Chinese medicine, this seasonal shift can gently disrupt the body’s natural rhythm – especially sleep, energy and mood. This is a time when the body is transitioning into the energy of Spring, linked to the Liver system, which supports smooth flow, emotional balance and vitality.
Here’s how to support yourself through the change:
🌱 Prioritise Rest
Go to bed a little earlier in the days before and after the shift. Even 20–30 minutes helps your body adjust more smoothly.
🌿 Move Gently
Light stretching, walking or yoga helps the body’s energy (Qi) to flow and reduces that sluggish, “out of sync” feeling.
🍵 Nourish & Hydrate
Favour warm, light meals and stay well hydrated. Green vegetables are especially supportive at this time of year.
🐦 Listen to Evening Birdsong
Take a few quiet moments outdoors in the evening light. Birdsong has a naturally calming effect on the nervous system, helping to reduce stress, lift mood and gently prepare the body for restful sleep.
👣 Acupressure – Kidney 1 (Yongquan)
This grounding point is found on the sole of the foot, about one third down from the toes.
Gently press or massage this point for 1–2 minutes on each foot:
• Helps calm the mind
• Supports better sleep
• Brings energy down when you feel wired or unsettled
🌼 Acupuncture Support
Acupuncture can help regulate your internal clock, improve sleep quality, boost energy and ease stress during seasonal transitions. Many patients notice they feel more grounded and balanced after treatment.
💛 Be Kind to Yourself
It’s normal to feel a little tired or unsettled for a few days. Slow down where you can and allow your body time to adapt.
