Well done to all involved!

We are delighted to announce the rollout of new lifesaving AED (defibrillator) equipment across multiple locations on the island,

⚽️ Clare Island GAA pitch,
⛪️ Sacred Heart Church, and
👫 Clare Island Community Centre

This project was made possible through the support and funding of:
🔹The National Lottery
🔸SICAP
🔹Clare Island Development Company and
🔸Clare Island Community Centre

The funding also provided for the purchase of a Trainer AED unit, helping to upskill community members through local training sessions provided by the island Public Health Nurse, Margaret O’Grady👩‍⚕️

This invaluable training will help build confidence and preparedness within the community, ensuring more people have the skills needed to respond in an emergency.

This investment greatly strengthens the safety and wellbeing of everyone who lives on or visits the island.

A sincere thank you to all involved in supporting community health, safety, and resilience🤝

📢 Have Your Say – GAA Clubs & Community Wellbeing

Postgraduate student from the University of Galway Claire McNamara is currently carrying out important research on the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Programme and your input is needed!

This study explores how GAA clubs involved in the Healthy Clubs Programme differ from those not currently participating, particularly in how they support:
✅ Healthier environments
✅ Wellbeing initiatives
✅ Stronger community connections

The Healthy Clubs Programme, delivered in partnership with Healthy Ireland and the Health Service Executive, aims to make every GAA club a hub for physical, mental, and social wellbeing in their community.

📝 Who should take part?

Club officers
Coaches
Players & members

Whether your club is part of the programme or not — your voice matters!

⏱️ The survey is short and easy to complete, and your participation will help ensure strong national representation and meaningful research outcomes.
