It’s important to be aware of the symptoms of heart attack in women. By knowing the symptoms, you can take steps to get timely treatment and care.

03/09/2025

1 in 4 women dies from heart disease and stroke. Yet many don’t know they are at risk.

That is why the Her Heart Matters campaign exists – to raise awareness, share life-saving information, and empower women to take charge of their heart health.

As women enter menopause, their risk of heart disease and stroke increases.

The good news is that 80% of premature heart disease and stroke can be prevented by making heart healthy lifestyle changes and knowing the symptoms for women.

This September, we are encouraging women – and workplaces – to take heart health seriously. It is time to change the conversation.

Talk. Share. Empower.

The Dillon Quirke Foundation are doing amazing work by providing cardiac screening to young people aged between 12-17. They are working to reduce future tragedies caused by SADS, by identifying potential cardiac issues early.

We are so lucky to have them coming to work with Shrule/Glencorrib GAA & LGFA Club this Wednesday.

If you can, please make a small donation to help them continue this work and honour Dillon's legacy.

We are delighted to welcome the Dillon Quirke Foundation to our club on Wednesday, 30th July at Glencorrib NS from 9am to 5pm.

The Dillon Quirke Foundation offer cardiac screening to players aged between 12-17 (inclusive)

On average, Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year. Cardiac screening can help prevent SADS by identifying heart conditions at an early stage – before they cause symptoms. With your help, our aim is to raise awareness and save lives through a cardiac screening programme.

The screening programme, delivered by Advanced Medical Services and funded by the Dillon Quirke Foundation, will perform cardiac screening with the aim of reducing the incidence of Sudden Adult Death.

There are very few spaces left, please use the link below to book a place for your child.
