Important advice for Cork Marathon runners!

As race day approaches, it’s tempting to reach for ibuprofen to ease the strain, but please read this from Dr. Ravi Dasan, an A&E consultant. Taking ibuprofen before or during the race can seriously harm your kidneys, especially when combined with dehydration and physical exertion.

This can lead to a dangerous condition called rhabdomyolysis, which often brings runners to A&E after the race.

Stay hydrated, listen to your body, and run safe. Enjoy the marathon, don’t let preventable injuries stop you!
