On our surgical team we have very experienced, dedicated and caring specialist nurses. Advanced Nurse Practitioner Anne Murphy was the first ANP in the CUH and has over 20 years experience in colorectal specific practice. Joanne McCarthy is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in colorectal diseases on the advanced nurse practitioner pathway.
We have specialist dieticians, pharmacists and stoma care therapists working on our multidisciplinary team. We have been at the forefront of advances in patient safety in the post operative period over the last few years having develop protocols for Enhanced Recovery after surgery and Care Bundles for reducing Surgical Site
