Save Camden Palace Hotel Community Arts Centre A loved community arts centre that will reopen. In addition, we facilitate artist studios, the radio station ‘Room 101’ and print making facilities.

Camden Palace Hotel Community Arts Centre urgently needs a building to continue providing inclusion and creativity for Cork’s communities and the arts. One of the largest community arts centres in Ireland faces immediate closure unless a building can be found in Cork city centre. We are appealing to you, your contacts, property owners and institutions with buildings in the Cork city centre for any assistance that could be made even on an interim basis while a longer term premises of at least 10,000 square feet can be found. Since 2009, our mission is to support collaboration within the arts, between artists, business and the public by creating a platform to meet the needs and ambitions of our communities who provide an invaluable service to the people of Cork City and County. We are a very strong and vibrant community arts group that embraces the opportunity to evolve and are looking forward to the challenge of developing new premises. Camden Palace has built a dance studio, a theatre/cinema auditorium, fully equipped workshops, project space, a traditional dark room, a concert venue room, plus a music rehearsal & recording studio recently officially approved in Rory Gallagher’s honour. When the building was sold earlier this year, the board of management immediately began to search for alternatives. Despite several promising possibilities, all have come to nothing so far. From the end of this month, Camden Palace will be homeless. The building itself is not particularly important, as artists we work with the canvas provided but a central location is essential for the large majority of the community organisations using our space. For them, accessibility and proximity is a key element. The evolution of Camden Palace Hotel is one of the true success stories to come out of the recession. Remarkably, it has achieved this without public funding. The self-sustaining not for profit community arts centre operates with the modest income that it generates on its own. After 6 and a half wonderful years, Camden Palace Hotel Community Arts Centre is in need of a new home. From humble beginnings in what was an empty derelict building, Camden Palace has built an international reputation based on the public’s reaction to the inclusive environment, variety and quality of its programmes, residencies and events. In 2015 alone, Camden Palace facilitated: 555 workshop/classes, 84 Film Screenings, 12 Theatre Shows, 15 Photo/Video Shoots, 9 All Age Concerts, 10 visual art exhibitions, 5 festivals, 3 Conferences, 11 Community Events, 5 Fundraisers, 5 Music Album LPs recorded, 256 Art Therapy Workshop/Classes & the setting of another Guinness World Record!- This does not include individual resident artists’ work and activities nor rehearsal time. Camden Palace urgently needs to be relocated. Can you help enable us to carry on our mission? Thank you for your time and support. For information or press enquiries:

Hey there Friend! Guess what? This isn't your run-of-the-mill, generic copy-paste message! Nope, Dear, this is a bespoke, tailor-made greeting crafted with love and a sprinkle of extra understanding (because I know you're worth it!). :D So, brace yourself for a festive explosion of emojis as I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May your heart's desires come true, with a little extra thrown in just for kicks (and distance limitations). 🎅✨

Now, as I contemplate whether I'll be stuck in front of my screen doing this all over again, let me assure you – it's all worth it! Here's to an upcoming year that's as fantastic as this message is sincere. Oh, and there you go that warmer welcome for next whole year too!!

And nope, I didn't enlist any super-secret, turbo-charged program to blitz through messages. This was a genuine, manual effort fueled by friendship and good vibes. So, my dear friend, enjoy the warm fuzzies, and have a delightful evening! Cheers to you!

Do not let the cynics win.
Cynical voices are already saying we will never open The Arts Village (or what the media is calling Camden Palace Arts Village) in Cork city centre.
Help us to prove them wrong. We will persuade a large number of successful musicians, artists and actors to become joint owners of the new space.
You can help persuade them by making a modest donation, whatever you can afford. It could be the price of a meal or even a coffee.
Being supported by a lot of people is not just about the money. It is also a message to the wealthy donors that The Arts Village has a real support base.
Your modest donation is a crucial step that will allow us to raise the millions needed.
If the response to this appeal is poor, it is not only our potential donors who will doubt that there is a need for this new community arts space in Cork. Our politicians, business owners, and the wider public will also turn their backs.
Please do not let this happen. Be the person who can say in the future, I supported Camden Palace Arts Village when it was needed.
You can donate by visiting https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/ArtsVillage

Dear Friends,

It has been awhile seen our last post on this page, a year in fact but unfortunately we now have to find a new home.
We would appreciate any help that you may be able to give regarding the following statement
Thank you

Dear All our supporters and friends,

It is sad for us to tell you that the Camden Palace building has been sold.
At this stage we know very little other than the big sold sign that was attached to the community arts centre this morning.

Until we receive contact from the new owners with news of their will and intentions, our fate in this building is unknown.
As soon as we have something further regarding this we will let you know.
At the very least, we have a lease until August of this year -Until then, we will just keep going doing what we do! :)

Primarily, we would like to thank all the people- Past and present who helped build, create and make Camden Palace Hotel Community Arts Centre what it is today.

Despite this development, the efforts made to support and the giving of your name to the Save Camden Palace Hotel Community Arts Centre campaign is highly appreciated and very important. What it does is it brings awareness to the people of the city, the country and the authorities of the relevance and need for a place like Camden Palace- Not just for artists but for everyone.
It is something that one way or the other we will plan to work to continue to provide

This is far from over and whether it is for another 8 months or 8 years-
You, We, Us are alive and well and must keep fighting to make the most of what we have.

Thank you and we will be in touch again soon x
