A great memory has popped up on my Fb wall today - 2016 Open Dialogue Conference "Implementing Open Dialogue in Mental Health Services" held in Cork.
Open Dialogue is an and approach to mental health care that focuses on , , and shared decision-making. In 2016, Ireland was one of the pioneering countries, following Finland, that had introduced this inclusive, therapeutic model to a wider community.
This spirit of and the frame of mind of looking beyond traditional approaches to achieve better results have always been the main drivers for me, not only in the teaching field. Additionally, I had been familiar with various and models long before the conference.
My passion and commitment to exploring and applying the best methods available out there to support my clients, learners as well as other educators have only grown stronger over the years.
The mindset of a therapist specialised in various holistic methods, using successfully a range of , and -based strategies (and more) allowed me to professionally pursue in those areas even further.
Today, my unique method - Teaching with Therapeutic Techniques - that I have created with all learners in mind has been recognised and proved to be for both and learners.
My goal: turning challenges into has not changed.
Embedding health and well-being in education works!
Having studied specific learning differences such as , , , thoroughly and other neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. , , , , , to name a few), I can assuredly say the right approach to the teaching-learning process is key.
Achieving visible results does involve acquiring specialist knowledge combined with hands-on practice, but it is worth every minute spent studying.
Now, I am confidently implementing my expertise as an specialist in -informed practice into teaching.
The journey continues at the global level! ๐ ๐
Stay tuned for the upcoming events ๐ ๐ก
