The SIVUH is one of 2 major centres for Head and Neck Cancer in Ireland

Patients with a diagnosis of Head & Neck Cancer are treated by the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) based in the SIVUH and also in the CUH. This includes ENT Surgeons; Radiation Oncologists; Medical Oncologists; Plastic Surgeons; Pathologists; Radiologists; Dentists, Specialist Nurses, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists and Nutritionists. Funds raised are used for ongoing research, to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, to enhance and develop services and to ensure a world-class service is provided to all our patients and their families/carers.

Great turnout for our Annual Head and Neck Cancer Information Day. Wonderful to see so many of our patients and family members share information with each other. As a team we always enjoy meeting everyone in such an informal relaxed setting.
We had great talks from 2 cancer survivors, members of our team introduced our new Survivorship Clinics and our new Psycho-Oncology service as well as our Lymphoedema and Acupuncture services available for patients post treatment.
Also some great stands from Arc House, The Irish Cancer Society, Nutricia, Mucosamin as well as our own Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Speech Therapists.
Huge thank you to Maryborough Hotel & Spa for the beautiful venue, food and drinks and amazing staff. Thanks to Tim for the ice-creams which were a very welcome treat!
