Find: SUAIMHNEAS- contentment, tranquility, calm, ease, peace After a life changing couple of years with long covid I have changed direction, and now am focused on well being and healing. Witnessing first hand all the issues and stress children now have in school, I
initially began training in play therapy with the aim of addressing mental health issues and other difficulties. I have a certificate in therapeutic play skills and completed trauma informed training within the course. After practising yoga for many years and finding it to be the most beneficial practice to me during my years with long covid, I did a 200 hour teacher training course with RĂonach yoga in Delgany, to deepen my study of yoga. I'm continuously learning about yoga, listening to podcasts and audiobooks and reading as well as practising daily. I've done teachers' summer courses over the years in teaching yoga and mindfulness to children and also a month long training in teaching mindfulness to children. During long covid I began practising the Wim Hof method. I practise the breathing technique every morning and have cold showers and/or hop into the nearest river, lake or sea regularly for a dip. I believe breath is our superpower and am interested in the health benefits and the science behind breathwork and pranayama. I am a registered sound practitioner with the SHAI, having completed levels 1-3 in sound therapy. I am passionate about sharing the benefits of sound with others in one to one sessions or group sound baths. Music has always been the strongest force in my life, and has sustained me during difficult times. As a musician and music lover, sound healing makes sense for me as I'm already attuned to the emotional and physical power of sound. My sound healing instruments are incorporated into yoga classes for adults and children. Foxglove Sound and Yoga is in a quiet, peaceful location on the Carlow/Wicklow border. On two acres, there is a mature garden, wildlife pond, a wildlife meadow and a plantation of over 450 young native Irish trees with peaceful walkways. During school holiday camps, children are immersed in nature, away from technology and enjoy nature based art, crafts, yoga, play and music. Retreats for adults offer hatha yoga, yin yoga, yoga nidra, sound baths, immersion in nature, hikes in the local Wicklow mountains, walks to sacred sites, wholesome, organic, vegetarian food and drinks and live tradititonal Irish music sessions. The aim of Foxglove is to offer "suaimhneas", meaning peace, tranquility, stillness, calmness and ease. Isn't it time to prioritise your own well being?
