Can we say a huge thanks to Martine O'Sullivan, store manager of Blackberry Hearing in Mallow and audiologist Eileen O'Flynn for a very informative afternoon at the Presentation Support Centre Doneraile CLG.
As we age gracefully (or not) it's important to take control of our own health and keep our independence as much as possible.
Sometimes we don't want to admit our frailties but by not doing so we risk isolating ourselves from social interactions that keep us positive.
It was a revelation to know that if there are any people who cannot make it into the hearing Centre then Eileen makes home visits free of charge.
They also offer ear wax removal by vacuum which might be the initial cause of loss of hearing.
What a surprise to see Lily today. Turns our he's Martine's Mum and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Can we also say a huge thanks to our own Therese who talked us through some gentle exercise with simple techniques that help our mobility.
Tea and apple tart finished off a lovely afternoon with dear friends

Tomorrow 10th November we will have our Arts and Crafts group at 2pm. Come early and enjoy the chat and maybe a few light exercise movement to set us up for the day.
At 3pm we will welcome Martine Sullivan, store manager of Blackberry Hearing in Mallow.
As we age it is important to stay healthy in every aspect of our lives. Being hard of hearing can lead to exclusion and loneliness and a simple hearing check can change all that.
We make no apologies for being an ageing population and we support each other to keep ourselves fit and happy through this process.
Come along and enjoy a social and informative afternoon.
The kettle is always on the boil
Bring your ideas to the room and every voice will be heard.

We had a beautiful and poignant few hours together to remember our Light up for Loved ones in the Presentation Support Centre Doneraile CLG .
Thanks to everyone who joined us and spent time in silent reflection.
Thanks to our own Betty O' Rourke and Marie Hallahan for all your help with the tea and coffee and the refreshments.
Kathy and Shannen Hunter you are the best support always.

This evening 2nd November we will have our Light Up for Loved Ones in the Presentation Support Centre Doneraile CLG from 5.30 to 7pm.
This is a great way to sit and think of those who are no longer with us.
A special space to relax and reset
We will have the kettle on for a cuppa in the Active Retirement Room during and after the event.
We have nightlights available for you
