🐦🌿 Little bird explorers at ’s Little Learners 🌿🐦

This week we discovered the wonderful world of birds through sensory play, creativity and hands-on learning ✨

🪶 The children looked closely at different birds and talked about their body parts — wings, tails, beaks and bright little eyes
💨 Explored real feathers by touching, comparing colours, feeling how soft and fluffy they are and blowing on them to watch them float through the air
🥚 Learned that birds hatch from eggs and build their homes in trees
🌈 Sorted birds by colour while practising observation and matching skills
✂️ Our older children also practised using scissors — building confidence and fine motor skills through playful activities
🪱 And the biggest hit of all… feeding the birds “worms” made from colourful spaghetti during sensory play 😍

Such a lovely theme full of curiosity, movement and tiny discoveries 💛

🏡 Try at home:
🪶 Collect feathers or leaves outside and compare their colours, textures and sizes
🐦 Pretend to be birds together — flap wings, hop around and build a “nest” with blankets or cushions
🌈 Sort toy animals or objects by colour and count them together

🐑🚜 A busy little day on the farm at ’s Little Learners 🚜🐑

This week our little farmers explored life on the farm through play, creativity and lots of hands-on learning 🌾✨

🌿 The children worked together to build their own farm on the felt board — thinking about what a farm needs and where everything belongs
🐄 We revisited farm animals and their sounds (with lots of happy mooing and baa-ing 😄)
🔢 Sorted animals using matching cards while practising counting and numbers 1–5
🎨 Created the cutest fluffy sheep — adding soft textures and choosing their own special colours and patterns to make each one unique 💕
🫘 During sensory play the children “fed” the animals by filling trays with colourful lentils as special farm food — scooping, pouring and strengthening fine motor skills along the way ✨

Such a lovely theme full of imagination, learning and playful discovery 🌈

🏡 Try at home:
🐑 Make animal sounds and let your child guess which farm animal it is
🌾 Create a small farm using toys, blocks or drawings and talk about what belongs there
🔢 Count toy animals together from 1–5 and sort them by type or colour

✨ A little space adventure this week at ’s Little Learners ✨🚀

We blasted off into a world of imagination, movement and discovery — and the children absolutely loved it 🌌

🔺 We built our own rockets using geometric shapes — learning through play while creating something exciting
🎈 Explored **aerodynamics** with balloons — watching how air helps things move and fly
⚽ Discovered **gravity** using fit balls — rolling, bouncing and feeling how things move up and down
🪐 Sorted different space objects — building early thinking and classification skills
🎨 Created our own unique planets — full of colour, texture and imagination
🫘 And one of the favourites… sensory play with our “cosmic beans” — scooping, pouring and exploring textures in a calm, engaging way ✨

Such a fun mix of science, creativity and play — learning without even realising it 💛

🚀 Build a rocket from shapes (paper or blocks) — talk about circles, triangles and rectangles
🎈 Balloon race — blow up a balloon and let it go to see how it moves
⚽ Gravity play — roll balls down different surfaces and see which goes faster
