Is thyroid dysfunction at the core of your patients hormonal chaos?

At the 2025 FMC Ireland Conference, Dr Shandeep Momi will unpack one of the most misunderstood and mismanaged aspects of modern hormonal health: the thyroid.

A Dublin-based GP and founder of Functional Thyroid Care, Dr Momi has dedicated his entire clinical practice to supporting individuals with hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s and fertility-related hormone imbalances using a root cause, functional medicine approach.

If you’re seeing more patients with low energy, fertility struggles, HPA axis dysfunction or unexplained symptoms - these sessions will connect the dots.

Talk One: Optimising the Ageing Endocrine System - The Thyroid’s Central Role in Hormonal Harmony

Understand how thyroid health underpins hormonal balance across the lifespan, from adrenal resilience to reproductive ageing and why so many patients are being missed with conventional testing.

Talk Two: Adrenals, Thyroid and the Modern Fertility Crisis - Rewiring the HPA Axis for Reproductive Resilience
Explore how chronic stress, nutrient depletion and thyroid dysfunction are creating a silent fertility epidemic - and what to do about it using a functional medicine lens.

Dr Momi’s talks are grounded in both clinical evidence and practical strategy. You’ll leave with tools you can immediately apply to help your patients restore hormonal harmony and improve outcomes.

Every week women are told to accept fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, low mood or night sweats as part of getting older.

The language is dismissive, the solutions are limited, and the result is a generation of women trying to survive when they should be thriving. As a doctor or practitioner, you know these symptoms are real signals of imbalance and you also know that a better way exists when we look at hormones through a functional medicine lens.

That is why we are delighted to welcome Dr Ghazala Aziz-Scott to the 2025 FMC Ireland Conference. With medical training from Cambridge and Oxford, and over 20 years in clinical practice, she now leads at the prestigious Marion Gluck Clinic on Harley Street. Her approach combines rigorous science with a truly holistic outlook, making her one of the UK’s leading voices in integrative women’s health.

In her session, S*x Hormones are Life Hormones, Dr Aziz-Scott will highlight the vital roles of estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA in energy, mood, metabolism, cognition and longevity. She will also demonstrate how personalised BHRT and compounding can restore optimal function and help women regain balance at every stage of life.

Her second talk, A Functional Medicine Approach to Hormonal Health, takes a wider view, exploring the HPA axis, detox pathways, DUTCH testing, the gut microbiome and nutrigenomics. This is about giving practitioners a whole-systems framework that explains why hormones drift out of balance and how to bring them back into alignment in ways that last.

Dr Aziz-Scott is part of a world-class speaker line-up of ten experts covering genetics, epigenetics, thyroid and adrenal resilience, mitochondrial health, fertility, nutrition and detoxification. Together they will deliver a weekend of clarity, depth and practical strategies you can take straight back to clinic.

Your patients are asking tougher questions and they no longer settle for generic advice. They want to know why their lab results look fine when they still feel flat, why one diet transforms their neighbour but does nothing for them, why their body doesn’t bounce back the way it once did. And you want the same thing, clearer answers, sharper toolsand a way to connect science with daily practice so your protocols move beyond trial and error.

At FMC Ireland 2025, Chris Moore will open the door to that future in his session, The Future of Health: Uniting Genetics, Personalised Nutrition, Functional Laboratory Tests and 21st Century Hi-Tech Tools to Unlock Personalised Resilience and Prolonged Healthspan.

This is a talk about moving past the averages and using the patient’s own genetic blueprint, combined with advanced functional testing and emerging technology, to deliver care that is personal, precise and proactive. It is about resilience measured in years lived well, not just years survived.
