Free Travel 4 Epilepsy

Free Travel 4 Epilepsy We are petitioning the Irish government for travel cards for persons with Epilepsy. If you have a se If you have a seizure, you must spend 1 year off the road.

We believe you should have a travel pass for this period. Many people spend years off the road. We hope to bring awareness to this issue and get as many petition signatures as possible. We regularly contact elected officials and share our needs and proposals with them. Our main goal is to advocate for a free travel pass. The inability to invest and run a private motor vehicle for years on end means spending all your money on different transport methods. An accessible system of travel cards would immediately benefit every person with Epilepsy who has had a seizure within the last year. This would also provide a safety need towards future seizures. Currently Travel passes are linked to other payments, which act as barriers to entry. These payments are not suitable for most people with epilepsy, but this need still exists. Secondly unbundling the free travel scheme from existing requirements would allow it to be accessed as a standalone payment without additional benefits.
