Rest here a While by

I read this poem at my Grief Support Circle on Saturday after we had gone through a session of Breathwork and Reiki together.

It felt so fitting for the support that was in the room that we had for one another ❤️

I hope you enjoy it.

I will be holding the next Grief Support Circle in May, you can message me if you would like to join.

You hear so much about acceptance and it is even the last step on the 5 Stages of Grief.

I am not sure if I will ever fully accept the loss of Javi from our life and him not getting a chance to enjoy being a parent and enjoy more married life together.

I have found meaning through the Grief Support work that I do. I can help people with the grief because I now know loss and I worked hard to heal so the waves do not debilitate me anymore.

So, don’t give yourself a hard time if you are trying to accept what has happened and it is not working for you, maybe look for meaning instead ❤️

If you would like to connect with me for Grief Support either within my Grief Support Group or one to one send me a message

It is so easy to get caught up with what you lose when you experience a significant loss but almost 5 years on I can acknowledge what I have gained.

1. Grief cracks you right open and now I know the fragility of life I have gained a new appreciation for life, health and my loved ones around me.

2. I get to grow older and what a privilege that is when Javi lost his life at 40. I do things I want sooner than before whether that is travel or taking changes, I have a strong sense of YOLO everyday.

3. I discovered how amazing Reiki and breathwork can be for healing and I have found love in helping people within grief and also with anxiety and stress.

If you would like to work with me one to one or attend one of my Grief Circles you are welcome ❤️

Booking now open for April’s Grief Support Circle.

If you are learning to live with the waves of grief that comes with a loss and you need support I invite you to join.

The afternoon combines connecting with other grievers, Reiki and breathwork which is all that has helped me on this journey.

Finding meaning within Grief can take different forms. Something I am involved with now is in a clinical trial to see if injecting healthy blood into brain cancer patients could be an effective treatment option.

I donate blood every 6 months for this and I do it in Javi’s name. How amazing would it be if this was the treatment that worked and saved families from having the loss we experienced.

It can feel like all you have left are memories.

As our daughter is so young I have weaved Javi into our day to day to keep him alive but not in a way that feels heavy.

If I see that my daughter has a similar reaction to something or we do something he would love, I share it with her and it brings him back to life in that moment.

Your life will rebuild around your loss but it takes time. In order to heal you need to feel it and process the pain.

Almost 5 years on I still feel the waves of grief and some events especially when it involves our daughter can be sad but the sadness does not completely overshadow things anymore.

If you are in the early stages of grief I hope you are getting the support you need and if not you can reach out to me for a support group or one to one support ❤️

If you have experienced a big loss you know it is not just the person you lose. There are many layers to grief and some are invisible.

There are many more layers that I have not mentioned.

If you are going through this I am sending you love ❤️

I always give a gift to the attendees at the Grief Support Circle.

I feel it is important because in the many layers of Grief one of them can be that you don’t receive as many gifts when you lose that significant person.

It also contains things that can extend the self care you receive in the group by having that time just for yourself.

This is why I gave set up the Grief Support Circle.

It is important that when you are ready you find what helps you through ❤️
