Scleranthus is a tiny plant that is easy to overlook, especially when growing amongst other plants.

In fact, finding it often means getting on your hands and knees to peer closely at the ground.

It has tiny green flowers and a low, spreading form. This closeness to the ground is a strong indication of the nature of Scleranthus types.

Many plants reach for the sun with a sense of purpose – for example Impatiens that grows at considerable speed. But not Sceleranthus, it moves across the ground in random directions as if searching without focus.

Scleranthus types become limited in their vision and lack decisiveness. Bach said that they relied purely on intellect and not at all on intuition, the voice of the soul. At times of choice, they could not hear that voice to help them decide on their path. In fact, they are prone to change their minds constantly. The lack of an inner compass keeps them from their path.

This leads to uncertainty and changing decisions. The essence brings self-determination, focus and decisiveness.

Can you still use out of date remedies?

Question: I’ve heard you say that owning homeopathic remedies is an investment, but is it safe to ignore expiration dates on the vials of remedies I purchased years ago? Don’t the remedies lose their effectiveness?

Reply: Yes, it’s safe, and no, remedies don’t lose their effectiveness! Allow me to illustrate:

While doing research for my first book years ago, I frequented the University of Buffalo’s Medical Library, where they archived homeopathy medical books and remedy kits used in Buffalo homeopathic hospitals from the 1800s to 1940s.

Don’t forget about Arnica! (Thanks for the reminder)

Don’t forget about Arnica!
(Thanks for the reminder)

I know all of you think, " I know this remedy too well; I don't need a reminder of what I can do with it". But did you know that ARNICA is also a good remedy for SLEEPLESSNESS that stems from physical overexertion?

This is because one of the affinities of Arnica is the muscles and injuries. So anything that can produce this state can respond well to Arnica.

You may think that you know this situation well, but it is so easy to overlook simplicity! So many new remedies look fascinating; why look at an old, basic remedy? This is a common scenario that I sometimes see in my practice when a patient books an acute.

They overlook the obvious because it looks too simple or has taken a couple of doses of Arnica, and not much has happened. Then, they start to look for a "specific remedy for them". Often, a couple of doses of Arnica here and there is much less than the intensity of the injury and, as a result, cannot produce much change. Physical symptoms intensify, and we now think something else must be going on! By the end of the week, you are suffering from sleeplessness, and you have forgotten about Arnica here.

Let's see some of the situations that could produce sleeplessness at night from overexertion:

- you have gone on a hike, and your muscles are sore and achy. You keep waking up at night for the week after.
- You have gone to the gym and have done a few more lifts than you should
-you have run a marathon or played a 24 hours tournament, and your body is recovering. You wake up at night with aching limbs and feel as if " the bed is too hard."
- you have worked so hard on your garden, planting flowers or vegetables, and you feel overtired
- have been swimming for an extended period of time during your holidays
-if you have been with your grandchildren all day and they have worn you out!
-if you have been spring cleaning your house
-after a house move
- after weeding around your home

Remember Arnica, if you have done any of these activities and have problems waking up at night, often feeling restless after a few days.
