Beyond the Videos: Rising Health and Consent Concerns in Ghana Viral Case
A Russian tourist known online as Yaystseslav, also identified as Vyacheslav Trahov, has sparked widespread outrage after visiting Ghana for about a week and posting videos about his encounters with Ghanaian women.
The situation took a more serious turn when one woman publicly claimed that after sleeping with him, she later tested positive for an infection. While this claim has not been independently verified, it has deepened public concern around s*xual health, responsibility, and consent.
Another young woman also confronted him in a recorded video call, expressing anger and distress. She alleged she was invited over, paid her own transport, had unprotected s*x, and was later asked to leave an experience many listeners described as humiliating and emotionally painful.
At the heart of this issue are the women involved, many of whom say their dignity, privacy, and safety were compromised.
Ghana’s Ministry of Gender has condemned the incident and confirmed investigations are ongoing.
According to the Minister for Communication, Samuel Nartey George, authorities are determined to pursue accountability, even if the individual has left the country.
Officials are urging the public to stop resharing the videos and instead center compassion, justice, and support for the women affected.
