As of September 1, the EU has banned TPO (trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide) — a common ingredient in gel nail polish that helps create that glossy, long-lasting finish.

TPO has been linked to fertility problems, hormone disruption, and possible carcinogenic effects. Meanwhile, it’s still unregulated here in the U.S.

The average adult woman polishes her nails about once per week, meaning this exposure could be chronic.

But the concern goes deeper than just one ingredient. Many nail polishes contain other hidden endocrine disruptors like phthalates, parabens, and toluene — chemicals known to throw off hormones, damage fertility, and even contribute to neurodevelopment issues.

All of this matters because hormones control the body. They regulate stress, fertility, sleep, digestion, mood, metabolism — they are at the center of God’s design for holistic health. When your nails are coated in potentially toxic chemicals week after week, you’re compromising that design.

We must start demanding higher standards in cosmetics — not just for ourselves, but for our children and for future generations. Children, especially teen girls, are exposed to an average of nearly 17 personal care products daily — many with undisclosed, potentially harmful ingredients.

Imbalanced hormones are rampant in our society because of the toxins we’re exposed to, such as those found in nail polish. If you’d like to learn more about balancing your hormones naturally with food, herbs, and lifestyle medicine, comment ‘HORMONE’ and I’ll send you my free hormone-healing class.

💅 What’s really in your nail polish? Many contain toxins like formaldehyde, toluene & phthalates — linked to hormone issues & fertility problems.

Next time, choose “5-free” or “10-free” brands. Safer beauty is smart beauty! 💚

📣 Tomorrow, Tuesday, 20th May 2025, Endo Ireland has been invited to speak in the AV Room at Leinster House — a vital opportunity to bring the lived experiences of endometriosis patients directly into the heart of policymaking.

We’ll be highlighting:
🔸 The wide-reaching impact of this chronic, progressive disease — from adolescence through to menopause
🔸 The persistent gaps in care: delayed diagnosis, lack of specialist services, limited mental health support, and the need for lifelong, personalised treatment
🔸 The urgent necessity for the National Endometriosis Framework to be fully published and implemented
🔸 The transformative role of education, research, and multidisciplinary care in improving outcomes

This isn’t just a meeting — it’s a chance to advocate for real, systemic change.

To our community: thank you. We carry your voices into every room we enter, and your stories are at the heart of everything we do 💛
