In this comparison, we have been asked to compare our Organic ProteinMax with Herbalifeโs Protein Drink Mix.
Whilst we would ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ Herbalife as a ๐ฃ๐ช๐ฉ๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐พ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐ฎ as such, we are publishing these comparisons at the request of our Customers to highlight the difference with our exceptional organic products comparing them to other products on the market. Please also see our recent comparisons with ๐
Interestingly, with the Herbalife product used in this comparison, ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐ข๐ค๐ฉ๐๐จ their ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐๐ช๐๐ฉ ๐๐จ ๐ก๐ค๐ฌ ๐๐ with 0๐ of ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ช๐๐๐ง, however it contains ๐พ๐ค๐ง๐ฃ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ช๐ฅ (otherwise referred to as ๐๐ก๐ช๐๐ค๐จ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ช๐ฅ) which is one of the main ingredients in their product and it also contains ๐ฟ๐๐ญ๐ฉ๐ง๐ค๐จ๐ (๐จ๐ช๐๐๐ง) both of which are ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐, providing added sugars.
Low Glycaemic (low GI) is a food that scores in the GI range of 0 to 55 and is less likely to have an impact on your blood sugar, medium GI is a food in the GI range of 56 to 69 and high GI is food in the GI range of 70 and above (high GI foods may raise blood sugars very quickly and cause inflammation & health problems). Corn Syrup has a GI of over 100 and Dextrose has a GI of 100, both have very high GI scores.
The glycaemic load of the overall product can only be lowered if the product contains sufficient other low GI foods, however as ๐ข๐ค๐จ๐ฉ of the majority of the ๐๐ฃ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐จ in the Herbalife product are ๐๐๐ฉ๐ช๐๐ก๐ก๐ฎ ๐๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐จ and ๐ฃ๐ค๐ฉ foods, and as the small number of foods in the product (see list below) only have a combined protein level of 15g with 0g of fibre, it would be interesting to see the Companyโs GI test on their product and how they claim 0g of added sugar, when it has Corn Syrup and Dextrose.
It is also interesting to see that the Company has chosen to add so many additives including bulking agents, anti-caking agents, sweeteners, synthetic/man-made nutrients etc.
Hopefully, these product comparisons will help encourage people to look at the ingredients lists on food products and supplements.
