The great outdoors - an amazing free resource! Especially in gorgeous weather like this. And even more so in natural environments.
Did you know that there are many research pieces showing that just being in green spaces (even urban ones like parks etc) have countless benefits for your physical and mental health? Even immunity!
How cool is that? Get out if you can!
I left the natural sounds here as they are so therapeutic.
I have always been a "water Autistic"! Any form of flowing water is just a regulating and resetting sensory experience for me - the sounds, the visuals and the feels.
Do you feel this way?

Usually we ask that children who come to play with us are barefoot. (Although if this is dif ficult or uncomfortable for a child we recommend trampoline or grippy socks for safety).
But why barefoot? There are so many benefits to be barefoot at all stages of life, and especially for children. The tactile feedback through the soles of the feet can be anchoring or grounding but also can foster a more responsive connection to their environment. It can help develop gross motor skills as children play.
The soles of our feet are very sensitive and give messages to the rest of our body about the environment and how to navigate and respond to it.
It can be pleasant sensory experience too - for some, not all!

Wow. Feels like the blink of an eye!
In this time have been striving to be as person-centred and neuro affirmative as possible, which has meant continuing to learn and evolve.
Honestly over the past 7 years I hope we have been able to support children and adults who come see us to live lives that are meaningful to them
I can also say we are so lucky to have had countless laughs and joyful experiences, and we are excited for more!

Happy Autistic Pride Day.
This day differs from the "Autism Awareness" month of April, as it it Autistic led - by us and for us.
The big difference is that today is a day when actually Autistic people celebrate their identity, community and their culture as well as recognise the value autistic people bring to society and take pride in being their true authentic selves.
This day takes place in month of June and first took place in 2005, inspired by the Pride of the LGBTQIA community, with whom we share a significant overlap.

This pic is from the AUsome Training
Minding Autistic Minds conference last year when I had not only the honour of being a guest speaker but the immense joy of being immersed in Autistic community, acceptance and nurture.
If you are Autistic, find other Autistics to surround yourself with, if you're not Autistic, learn from Actually Autistic people.
