7kg down in a couple of weeks
Here is a few bits Iv learnt from my experience while in a “calorie deficit” whilst also trying to add muscle.
Starting at 2900 calories and slowly reduced week by week, 10k steps per day, 5 CrossFit sessions & 3 strength training sessions per week. My coach got me to slowly increase my daily steps weekly whilst adding extra cardio. I found I almost always fail if I jump in to deep every time, ie low calorie deficit too much cardio etc this made it easier for me to stick to my diet. Was every week bang, no absolutely not because I’m human and also look after 4 tiny humans that take its toll on me each week.
* meal timing - I found been on point with the times I eat a game changer, eating at the same times every day combats hunger.
* My meal plans were worked out for me and I rarely changed them unless something was out of my control.
* plenty of “spuds” and foods with higher volume kept me fuller for longer.
* seasoning rather than sauces.
* 1 can of Coke Zero per day to satisfy my cravings also the days I hit my water intake it helped keep me fuller and satisfied.
* my meals were worked out and tracked which means I don’t have to think of what I am having and when.
* if your busy , having your food shop done and even meals cooked for a day or two leaves no room for error.
* my gym sessions are always planned at the start of the week and 9/10 times I may feel s**t before I go in but every single time I feel better once I complete them.
* get a coach , even if you know what you are doing because being accountable helps!
Consistency is the name of the game here if you have a bad meal or 2 or a little treat, best jump straight back on the wagon and hitting your targets. Over indulging too often will slow down or even stop your progress, however it happens to the best of us don’t dwell on it and move on. Doing something consistently over a period of time will bring great changes.
Remember change is hard, when the going gets tough we always opt for the easy option, that take away or whatever comfort food or drink it is for you!
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable that’s where the change happens.
