We popped into our new Better Balance programme in Stradbally this week and loved seeing everyone being challenged (and having fun!) with their co-ordination and balance skills under the guidance of WSP tutor Brie Lynch. Keep up the good work everyone.

We were delighted to partner with Waterford TT Stars to deliver a four-week “Come & Try It” Table Tennis Programme at the Butler Community Centre, which began during Positive Ageing Week.

Over the four weeks, participants enjoyed plenty of fun, friendly games, and laughter, with more than 10 older adults taking part in the sessions. A huge thank-you to Daniel and the rest of the TT Stars coaching team for facilitating such engaging and enjoyable sessions each week.

For anyone interested in continuing to play, Waterford TT Stars run regular club sessions at Butler Community Centre:

Tuesdays: 8 to 10pm – Open session (all members welcome)
Fridays: 6 to 7:30pm – Juniors & Beginners (supported by intermediate players)
Fridays: 7:30–9:00pm – Intermediates & Advanced

On Sunday last, seven hikers braved the wet underfoot conditions after the storm passed and joined us for a Hike in the Nire Valley, up to Coumduala and to the Sgilloges Lakes. Luckily the rain departed just in time and the sun was shining for the majority of the 10km round trip hike. A huge thanks to Joe, Damian and April from Sliabh Giking for guiding us and getting us all home safely. Watch this space for info on more hikes and walks.
