People in Clare are being hit from all sides right now.

We respect the right to protest, but adding hours to already long journeys is having a real impact on ordinary people trying to get to work, care for family, or attend appointments.

For many of us, University Hospital Limerick is already over an hour away. We don’t even have a fully functioning hospital in Ennis to fall back on.

Rural Ireland cannot keep being treated as an afterthought. When decisions are made, or protests take place, the reality for counties like Clare needs to be taken into account.

Balance is needed. People’s lives and safety matter too.

Some good news for Clare!

Significantly increased ambulance service to be delivered in Clare later this year.
27 extra highly trained staff with 5 additional ambulances. This will help to improve access to A&E services from throughout the county.
Extra ambulances 🚑 in Kilrush, Ennistymon & Ennis with some additional capacity yet to be decided where it will be deployed.

Disgraceful and outrageous. While so many people across the region worked hard to make submissions, filled in the HIQA questionnaire, continued lobbying, the decision had already been made. Yet another example of how those responsible for our appalling health service in the Mid West region have abused the goodwill of the people they should be caring for.

If John Moran knew then so did the TDs, Senators and Councillors across the region.
No surprise then that Fine Gael used the announcement as a PR exercise and other party TDs were upset having not received an invitation.

🛑 The past few days have been challenging for all in Clare following the announcement of the location of the new hospital, Raheen in Limerick.

🛑 There are many questions which remain unanswered about this decision.

As a result this campaign has initiated a Judicial Review to challenge the decision.

🛑 This step is about accountability, transparency, and ensuring the law is properly followed.

🛑 We believe this process is necessary to protect the rights and interests of our community.

🛑 We are grateful for those with expertise in this process who have already reached out to offer help and support

Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD states that HSE Mid West REO Sandra Broderck told her that new hospital site is 28 minutes from Ennis and Nenagh.

These are the smiling Fine Gael politicians who were with Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD. Minister for Health, yesterday as she announced the new hospital in Limerick for the Mid West region.

Included in the picture are 2 Clare politicians Joe Cooney TD and the current 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲 - 𝗖𝗹𝗹𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗵𝘆.

How can they justify their attendance at this announcement when the people of the county had just been treated so badly. The people of Clare put their trust in them to represent us all but it seems a photo op with the Minister for Health is more important.

In addition there are other Clare politicians on social media upset that they hadn't received an invite! So disrespectful to the people of this county.

There is a lot more to be said and done and that will happen!
