“The little group share at the start gave us all a chance to say something about our babies' development. It was always a great opportunity to take a minute to consciously mull over my baby’s development and realise how much she’s learning and growing. With the fast pace of life, it can often go unnoticed or perhaps undercelebrated.” – Mam who attended my Sensory Foundations classes

I love this feedback because it’s exactly why I created these sessions – a space to slow down, connect, and really celebrate your baby’s milestones while learning about their sensory world.

Our next Sensory Foundations Taster Session is on Monday, 1st September, with a full 6-week block starting Monday, 8th September.

These classes are designed for babies aged 0-3 years and include:

-Gentle, OT-informed sensory play
-Parent education on each of the senses
-A welcoming, supportive space to connect with other parents

Spaces are limited – DM to book or find out more!

✨ “Me and my two baby girls (10M & 2Y old) are absolutely loving Lisa’s sensory sessions. Such a perfect way to start the week where each session is so fun-filled but also nice and relaxing.” ✨

💛 “I love how every week is different too, as we learn something new from Lisa about the different senses our babies are figuring out and the techniques we can use to help them with this.”

🌼 “Really just such a gorgeous way to spend Monday mornings with my girls, where they leave so happy and relaxed after all the sensory input.”

💫 “Lisa is so sweet and really knows her stuff in this area and just sets such a lovely atmosphere each week which really makes these sessions – I highly recommend 🥰”

I’m so grateful to this lovely mam for sharing her experience. This is exactly what I hope Nóiníní Sensory Foundations offers to every parent and child who joins us. 🥹🌱

🌼 Words Matter: Let’s Talk About Teacher to Parent Language 🌼

I recently read an IEP shared with me by a parent, and I was genuinely appalled at the language used to describe their child. Page after page filled with deficit-based, negative wording: “non-compliant,” “lacks motivation,” “fails to engage,” “limited ability.” It read more like a list of shortcomings than a plan for support.

Imagine being a parent, reading that about your child. Imagine being that child, growing up internalising those labels.

This is why neuro-affirming language matters.
This is why we must shift the narrative.

🔁 Instead of “non-compliant,” how about “communicates discomfort and advocates for support”?
🔁 Instead of “lacks focus,” try “benefits from movement and sensory input to sustain attention.”
🔁 Instead of “disruptive,” say “expresses needs in ways we’re still learning to understand.”

💡 Neuro-affirming language recognises that differences are not deficits. It honours identity. It builds connection. It fosters trust between families and professionals. And ultimately, it leads to better support for the child.

IEPs are not just paperwork. They are living documents that reflect a child’s experience and potential. They should be rooted in respect, collaboration, and dignity.

Let’s do better. Our children deserve it. Their families deserve it.

Not just bubbles and bells! 🎈
Baby sensory isn’t just cute, it’s crucial. Your baby’s early sensory experiences shape their brain development.
At Nóiníní, every session is rooted in child development and OT knowledge.
I focus on a different sense in each class, with a calm structure, space for parents, and lots of love 💛

Occupational Therapy Led Baby Sensory Classes. OTs are the the experts in sensory processing and these classes are designed to support your child’s development.

BUT…

There’s also an education component to them so that parents are learning about sensory integration and how it supports motor development, emotional development, concentration and attention and much more !

They’re fun, relaxed but they’re also such a valuable class to attend because you learn the why behind what we do.

Come join me on Monday (30th June) for a taster session before the 6 week block starts on the 14th of July.

Taster session: 1 space left for the Birth to 12 months class. 3 spaces left for the 1-3 years class.

Proprioception – “Body Awareness Begins Here”

Does your child love being held tightly? Pushing or kicking against you? Rolling and stretching? That’s proprioception in action.

Our Sensory Foundations sessions include gentle activities that support your baby/toddler’s sense of where their body is in space- something that impacts their sleep, coordination, and even attention as they grow.

Come find out how to support this crucial (and often overlooked!) sense through loving, playful connection.

Taster session next Monday morning 30th June. 6 week block starting 14th July. Get in touch to book your place or ask any questions.

“The Power of Movement”
Spinning, swaying, rocking… to a baby, these aren’t just fun, they’re essential.

Movement feeds the vestibular system, helping your baby learn to balance, feel calm, and eventually, sit, crawl, and walk.

I’ve designed my Sensory Foundations classes to explore movement in a baby-safe, OT-informed way. You’ll learn how the right kind of movement helps regulate emotions and supports lifelong coordination.

It’s more than play, it’s connection. 💫
