Yoga4Health is a 10-week, evidence-based programme designed to support any person looking to feel well and supported , especially those experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood and long-term health conditions.

Developed in partnership with the Yoga in Health care Alliance, it bridges healthcare and community, offering accessible practices that focus on breath regulation, gentle movement, rest and self-management tools.

Importantly, it is community-based. Shared reflection and peer support are woven into the programme.Because we do better when we feel supported.We do better when we are connected.
Yoga4Health is about building sustainable wellbeing skills in a safe, structured and supportive environment.

Why my class is called a Beginners Class — and it might not be what you think ✨

Shoshin is a teaching from Zen Buddhism — the beginner’s mind.
It’s not just about being new to yoga.....
It’s about how we arrive... with curiosity.
with openness, with no preconceptions about what the body should do or how the breath should feel

So this class is called beginners not because it’s basic ,
but because we practise beginnings again and again

Softening the need to achieve
Letting go of the idea of good or advanced

This month we explored the diaphragm, the thoracic spine, and three-phase breath — creating space from the inside so the nervous system can soften and the body can move with more fluidity and ease.

Not about performance.

I was busy theming my class around Imbolc, and then I stopped and really checked in — how am I actually feeling toward this theme? The answer became very clear: I’m not forcing a theme that I don’t feel in my bones.

Patience, however, that’s a theme I am really embodying right now.

I feel that everywhere I look, the message is Imbolc — the first stirrings of spring. Light is returning, growth is beginning. But right now… all I notice are grey skies, rain, and damp that keeps me indoors more than I’d like.

And that, in itself, is the lesson.

Patience isn’t just about waiting for sunshine or a dry day — it’s about being present with what is. Life is still moving forward, even if we can’t see it. We are slowly moving toward lighter days, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

Today, I’m noticing my impatience and leaning into trust — trusting the slow unfolding of what’s coming next.

I am recharging at the ashram with very little access to my phone -which is great
I am not loving Sivananda yoga asana (or some very contradictory teachings) , it does not align with my values, philosophy, my own practice or how I teach so I made a decision not to join their 'beginner class' this morning' and did my own practice instead and feel very connected and peaceful as opposed to feeling I abused my body previously practicing sivananda asana
Ashram life however is soothing my soul , early rising , meditation and a 'mainly' sattvic diet is something I will continue once home (I'd need an ol egg to survive) . We have one more day here so Im going to soak up every last ounce of peace and tranquility. Feeling peace & love ❤️🙏
