Today I pitched to another business… and honestly, I took it as a huge compliment.
Not everyone sees it that way though.

Apparently reaching out from one businesswoman to another and asking
“Would you be open to taking a look?”
is considered… audacious.
The audacity of someone reaching out.
The audacity of me wanting to work with a select group of people.
The audacity of me wanting to work with the best.

Wild, right?
But here’s the thing…
Most people don’t stay in the same job for life anymore, yet some people are still operating like it’s 1995.
“Protect the team.”
“Don’t let them look elsewhere.”

Listen Barbara… if someone can be “stolen” from your team, they were already looking for the door.
People make their own decisions.
They stay for the same reason they leave:
They either feel valued… or they don’t.

I’m building something different.

This isn’t my first rodeo in social selling.
And honestly, that experience has become my superpower.

When you’ve been in this space before, you learn how to properly audit a company. You quickly see what truly aligns… and what’s just outdated systems dressed up as opportunity.

I’ve been in places where the products didn’t feel right, the systems felt old, and new ideas were constantly shut down. Eventually it just became an ick, and I stepped away.

I still loved the industry , I just didn’t think I’d find a company that genuinely ticked all the boxes.

Then I discovered Beyond Beauty Club.
It immediately felt Modern. Relevant. Built for how business and consumers are evolving today.

Sometimes experience teaches you the most valuable lesson in business: recognising when you’ve finally found the right company at the right time.

I’m 42 and I refuse to believe my biggest decade is behind me.

I’m a mam.
I run a business.
I can wear Jimmy Choo’s and still bleach my own floors.
Before I was a wife and a mam… I was me.
Ambitious. Driven. Capable of more.
That doesn’t disappear.

Last weekend was a reminder of what happens when you put the right women in the same room.

We talked growth.
We planned next quarter.
We laughed hard.
We celebrated wins.

Yes, I joined originally for products.
But I stayed for the standard, the opportunities.

For the kind of women who think long-term.
Who build properly.
Who want success and enjoy the process.

If you’re ambitious and know you’re capable of more, you don’t need hype.
You need the right room.

I’m 42.
This is why my skin looks better now than it did at 35.

I’m the woman who takes her makeup off.
No matter how late it is.
I don’t fall into bed anymore.
I don’t guess with products.
I don’t copy 25-year-old routines.

This morning I had a conversation that really stuck with me.
One of the newest women on our team has been in the beauty industry for 20+ years.
She brought henna brows and lamination products to Ireland… and then felt the need to step away for a while because she was completely burnt out from doing everything on her own.

And honestly, I felt that in my bones, every word she said.

Running my clinic, wearing every hat, carrying all the responsibility… and realising nobody really wants to hang out with “the boss”.
It can feel very lonely.

We kept saying the same thing back and forth, no one is meant to do this alone. And doing this surrounded by people who you trust & want to hang out with is golden.

This is why carving out this space means so much to me.

I absolutely wanted to build a team but I wanted to build it differently.
For a long time, I could see a gap for women who are capable, busy, successful… but who still want support and people in their corner. Why because this is me.

I’m not extraordinary. I’m just an ordinary woman with very high standards and one of those standards is the kind of environment I choose to be part of.

A space where you don’t have to be everything.
Where someone else’s strength can step in where yours isn’t.
Where showing up as you are is enough.
Seeing these women beside me last week made me really proud.

I nearly quit in September.

I worked really hard all summer and even gave up some days on our family holiday to keep my business moving… and the results I’d built up in my head just didn’t happen.

It knocked the wind out of me more than I expected.
I cried for two days straight with the level of frustration and honestly questioned everything.
My ability. My drive. Whether this was even for me.
I remember thinking maybe I’m just someone who watches from the sidelines instead of actually doing the thing.

There wasn’t some big lightbulb moment after that. I didn’t suddenly feel confident or super motivated.

I just got to the point where quitting didn’t feel like an option either.

So I rolled up my sleeves, audited myself, looked at my business properly and decided to keep going… even though I still didn’t really know where to start or what would happen next.

I just wasn’t ready to give up yet.
I think that part gets left out a lot sometimes , the bit where you keep going without certainty. This is more normal in business than you think.

If you’ve ever doubted yourself and wondered if you could actually do something like this… maybe don’t count yourself out just yet.

That experience is a big part of why I now help so many women build businesses that actually work in real life, not just in their heads.

My business has real momentum now. Absolute powerhouses are joining me. I’m stronger, clearer and more grounded than I’ve ever been.
Imagine if I had quit.
I wouldn’t be standing where I am today.

This was a standout leadership moment for me from yesterday’s event.

Leadership isn’t about titles. It’s about how you show up for each other.
It’s collaboration, communication, respect & recognising the value every person brings to the table.
Yesterday, we stood together as the leadership team to celebrate Emma reaching a pinnacle level in her business during one of the most challenging personal months of her life. While Emma and her family were navigating the devastation of the Jamaican hurricanes, the wider community came together to ensure she didn’t stand alone.
It will stay with me as one of those core memories, what was achieved at that month end felt like pure magic.
That achievement didn’t happen despite the circumstances.
It happened because of collective belief, shared responsibility, and unwavering commitment to a bigger vision.
Every business begins with one brave person willing to say, “I’m in.”
Emma was that person.
And strong women bring strong women with them.
What you see here is mutual respect, admiration, and shared leadership, a group of women who genuinely celebrate one another’s success.

This is what empowered leadership looks like.
And this is what’s possible when community is built on trust, admiration, and unity.
