We had a lovely morning down the park for Biodiversity Week 🤳🏻. Snapping, learning, and taking it all in. Big thanks to the team from Killarney National Park & for all the insights – super interesting stuff altogether. Great to slow down, notice more and appreciate what’s on our doorstep.

Few snaps from my first visit to Belfast. It was some experience 🙌🏻.

Went to the Healing Through Photography conference run by Belfast Exposed Photography Gallery. It was unreal 😁. I loved every single second of it. Highly recommend people check out the next one. Huge thank you to the gallery, speakers and workshop hosts for all of the obvious hard work it took to make the event what it was 👏🏼.

Great to be surrounded by people who get it. Creative minds, good hearts and a shared passion for what photography can do for well-being. Sound people doing great work and making a big difference 👏🏼

Left feeling very inspired. Already looking forward to the next one 🙌🏻

Trade the mindless scrolling for some mindful picture taking 📸x🌳-🧠+💚=😁.

You know that feeling when you’ve been scrolling for hours and your brain feels like mush? 😩 Exhausting, isn’t it?

We all know that overstimulated, foggy feeling after too much time online. But what if you could swap that mental clutter for some simple mindfulness?

That’s exactly why I’m inviting you to try something different. "Through My Eye" 7 Days Of Mindful Photography.
📸 One photo a day.
🙌 No pressure.

Just noticing yourself and the world around you, and seeing things a little differently.

Use your camera. Use your phone. It doesn’t matter which—this isn’t about the gear. It’s about slowing down, paying attention and finding a little peace through the lens.

Because mindful photography isn’t about getting the perfect shot—it’s about how you experience the world while you’re d**g it.

👉 Give it a go. One picture a day. A fresh perspective. A little more peace and a focus to work towards a little more happiness.

About us ...

‘’ Do you have struggles? Are you not feeling your usual self? Is life a little harder? Are you stressed, anxious or low? Maybe you just feel bored, isolated or lonely? Is it time to practice more self-care? Do you enjoy nature, but don’t get out enough? Would you like to learn how to experience nature fully? Do you struggle to combat the Covid mindset? Or do you just feel there is something missing and you could be happier? Well you are not alone’’

At Focus On Happiness we believe the most important things you can have in life is health, love, happiness pictures and memories. We value things like openness, creativity, positivity, support, empathy, well-being, happiness, inclusivity, connection, freedom and authenticity. Our mission is to enhance how people see and interact with the world every day. We aim to empower members to cultivate more happiness and well-being in their lives, one photograph at a time.

As of June 2020 over 3.5 billion of us own a smart phone. That’s just over 45% of the world’s population and nearly a 10% increase on 2019. 610 million of us own digital cameras. 3 billion of us are on some form of social media and there are over 300 million photos uploaded to Facebook every day. The figures above tell us that taking, posting and sharing pictures of what is going on in our lives has become the new normal for a high percentage of people. Human beings have evolved to be social creatures. Social interaction is a basic human need we all have. We have survived and flourished on this planet through togetherness and communities. With resources like social media readily available to most, we are more connected today than we have ever been before. Even though this is the case, scientists still believe that the next big epidemic to have a drastic effect on all of our well-being, is the feelings of isolation and loneliness. We may be more connected, but the use of social media and smart devices have shown to have adverse effects on our mental health and well-being. In a world where they play an enormous part of our lives, it’s time we take responsibility for this and start putting these resources to use in new and more productive ways.
