What an amazing event with an incredible amount raised in beautiful Xander's memory 🦋 His amazing parents Edel and Luke must be so proud of impact Xander has made and continues to make on so many lives .🩵

"Myself and Luke did our fundraiser for Féileacáin in our little boy Xander's memory 🩵 At a workshop in The Mount Errigal Hotel on Thursday 12th March, Edel and Luke Mangan officially presented Jacinta Murphy of Féileacáin with a cheque totalling €10,860.

This amount was as a result of the fundraiser on 29th November last where Luke did a sponsored head and moustache shave, with the help of his wife Edel, in The Shamrock Lodge in Falcarragh. This special event was planned in memory of their baby Alexander John Mangan (Xander), who passed away in November 2022, and with appreciation to Féileacáin who supported them greatly at that time and ongoing.

Edel and Luke were thrilled to be able to raise such funds in honour of their son for a such a worthy cause, and express heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated so generously and supported them in every way during their fundraiser to help make this happen."

Singer and mental health advocate Bressie has opened up about experiencing a heartbreaking pregnancy loss.

Bressie and his partner, Louize Carroll, were told about their pregnancy loss in a maternity hospital, with Bressie first opening up about it in his book, The Place That Has Never Been Wounded.

He recalled how he and Louize were sitting in the hospital, excitedly chatting about what style of parents they wanted to be. They were planning on sharing the news they were expecting with their friends and family soon.

Sadly, after a scan, the couple were told that their baby's heartbeat couldn't be detected.

Now, Bressie has opened up about why he wrote about such a personal and devastating loss.

Bressie has been dating Louize since 2020. Louize, who is a psychologist, met Bressie through his mental health advocacy work.

She later joined The Blizzards, providing backup vocals and playing the bass guitar.

Infertility makes you feel like your own body betrayed you.

Every month feels like a test you didn’t study for.
Every negative feels personal.

You track.
You plan.
You hope.
You bargain.

You watch announcements roll in while you’re silently breaking.

And the worst part?
You can be surrounded by people… and still feel completely alone.

Infertility is grief on repeat.

It’s loving a child who doesn’t exist yet.
It’s fighting for someone you haven’t met.
It’s carrying hope even when it hurts.

But if you’re still trying… still praying… still believing…

You are stronger than you think.
