🐾🌿 Important Wildlife Rescue Reminder 🌿🐾

Before stepping in to rescue wildlife, please stop✋and consider whether intervention is truly necessary. Many young animals are often not abandoned, but simply waiting for their parents to return. Rescuing them unnecessarily can disrupt their natural life cycle.

If you encounter wildlife that appears to be injured or truly orphaned, please visit the Irish Wildlife Matters website for guidance on the best course of action: https://irishwildlifematters.ie/ 🐦🦡🦉🦔🦊🐾

General rule of thumb:
❌ It does NOT need to be rescued
- Young animals/birds that are seen away from their parents are not necessarily in trouble, especially if they are warm and appear active, healthy, and alert.

✅ It needs to be rescued
- If you see an animal with obvious injuries or that is cold and limp, please call us on 0419810000 for advice before bringing it into the clinic for treatment.

🐰 Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease is a widespread, life-threatening virus ⚠️

Often called viral haemorrhagic disease, it is seen frequently in unvaccinated rabbits because it spreads quickly through direct and indirect contact with infected rabbits.

The best way to protect your pet is with regular vaccinations throughout their life. This not only protects them but also decreases the spread of disease.

If you have a pet rabbit and need to check if their vaccinations are up to date, or need to get them booked in, call the clinic and speak to a member of the team.
