There’s a reason my teaching has deepened over the past year.
In January 2025, I lost both of my parents — my Mam on New Year’s Day, and my Dad just sixteen days later. Grief arrived fast and quietly reshaped everything.
What held me through that time was my practice and my studies.
Showing up on the mat. Learning. Training. Studying the body, the breath, and the nervous system. Letting structure hold me when words couldn’t.
Over the past few years, I’ve completed my 200hr and 500hr Yoga Teacher Training, trained in Ashtanga, Hatha, Yoga Nidra, Restorative and Chair Yoga, deepened my anatomy studies, and qualified as a Personal Trainer — bringing my total training to around 800 hours.
But more than qualifications, this journey taught me how movement can steady us, how breath can soften the edges of grief, and how strength — physical and emotional — is something we can build gently, over time.
We all experience grief in our own way, and there is no right or wrong way to move through it.
Yamika Yoga has become a space for exactly that:
to move, to breathe, to feel, and to find balance — especially when life feels unsteady.
If you’re here, you’re very welcome 🤍
We grow, we grieve, we heal — together.
