the haunting society of north Carolina is about all things Halloween !! we are about having fun and sharing the spirit of the Halloween season, whatever that is for each person varies. so this is a way to share what we all like, prop building, all year finding things for next years haunt, home haunting , Halloween parties, local events, helping out n.c. small businesses by showing thier products. meeting like minded people that share in the fun of Halloween.

Our iconic new host venue, The Pioneer Theater Manteo, NC dates back to the very dawn of cinema, when its first location opened in Downtown Manteo in 1918, showing silent films of the era. Its current location first opened its box office in 1934 and has been playing movies ever since, recognized as the oldest family owned independent theater in America. We are beyond excited to be working with the new blood revitalizing this legendary landmark, and we can't wait to bring the Halloween Int. Film Festival 2025 to The Pioneer this October, kicking off Halloween Island, presented by Halloween Daily News.

New deadline! February 7th.

Wow, 130 entries as of tonight! But we've had a couple of people reach out asking for an extension so they can put finishing touches on their videos, so we've decided to extend the deadline to Friday, February 7th, 2025 at 11:59 EST! But that's it, no other extensions! LOL.

Also, we are now putting out that we are looking for judges. Every year we like to switch up who judges to keep fresh eyes on the submissions. We have 4 spots available so if you're interested, please feel free to reach out to us. Judging will start at the middle of February.

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted already. We've started to review many of the submissions already and WOW!!! Amazing work all around!
