New Year can often be hard with a high risk gene, perhaps through the loss of loved ones, through the prospect of surgery or the diagnosis of cancer. This morning as I reflect over a coffee and a gorgeous sunrise may be all have strength to do what we can in 2024. Thanks for all your support to each other and may we continue to walk together x

GRAND CENTRAL MEET UP
Hi all… I know many of you missed the conference and keen to meet others. So this Saturday 10th June as planned a few weeks ago Ashley Hurst and myself are making ourselves available to meet/chat/answer qs High Risk related. This is completely informal and there will be no formal talks as such. Just a coffee and chat. Please bring a friend or partner too.
We will be in the Grand Central Foyer for 9.45am. My very kind brother in law, John Dodd who is the concierge can get us an area off the main reception to chat. Please comment below or PM if attending so we can gauge interest.
Many thanks
Hazel x

Thinking of you and your BRCA family here in NI and afar as we look back at 2022 and ahead into 2023. Being a high risk family always has heartache in some way but this often gives a renewed outlook on doing life ..... thinking of you all today and hopefully see you all soon. Thanks for your 'online' and 'in person' support and encouragement which I know is so so valuable to so many!

Your invitation ....

We are delighted to announce that the 11th Annual joint BRCALinkNI/School of Pharmacy (QUB)/Action Cancer Information Day will be held on Friday 20th May at the Balmoral Hotel, Belfast.
This information day is for people at high risk of breast, prostate and ovarian cancer and their families. This can be due to mutations in BRCA1 or BRCA2 or for as yet undefined genetic reasons.

To all our BRCA NI families and friends - a mixed 2021 for so many. Many in our group have received the news they are BRCA positive, some received a cancer diagnosis, some had surgery, whilst others are recovering physically and mentally and many are accessing information to make informed choices for their future. Challenges to our NHS has made the pathway even more difficult!
Going forward - BRCA NI with CCRCB and Action Cancer have made a provisional date for an annual face to face conference in Spring 2022. I am delighted we will get together soon! More details will be posted in the New Year.
May I wish you and your wee families a Happy New Year...
