Irish Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation IACR Established in 1995, IACR represents the multidisciplinary healthcare professionals delivering Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) in Ireland.

CR is an internationally recognised standard of care for cardiac patients recovering from a cardiac event and considered an essential component of secondary prevention for patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) due to the rigorous and extensive evidence base supporting its clinical effectiveness. CR is a class 1A recommendation for patients with coronary heart disease and heart failure. The pr

omotion of optimal quality of life for those diagnosed with CVD through effective rehabilitation, public and multidisciplinary awareness of CR, scientific research and continuing professional education is the core objective of IACR. IACR is committed to maintaining an excellent standard of care informed by international best practice and continues to endorse the key principles of aligning patient outcomes and safety to quality standards with the patient voice a central consideration. Members of IACR include: nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, occupational therapists, cardiologists and physicians. IACR is under the auspices of the Irish Heart Foundation.
