The hot air balloon championships are happening in Boyle so what better time to make our own hot air balloons. As the children informed me today
"When it's hot it goes up, when it's cold it goes down."

Another busy week, show and tell this week was the colour yellow. For cooking this week the children made pizzas. We were lucky to take part in a balance bike course. Spent lots of time outdoors playing, did some arts and crafts. We made volcano apples, great fun watching the volcanoes explode. Our favorite action song this week has been 5 little speckled frogs.

Outdoor time, over the last 3 weeks I have noticed the confidence in the children and progression to risky play. Risky play is so important, it develops crucial life skills like resilience, self confidence and problem solving. The children know when they can go higher, when they can hang off bars. I have noticed one of our first year preschoolers is now able to climb the steps whereas last week he needed assistance. The children's confidence is growing and friendships are forming

How lucky are we to have so much outdoor space. The children love been outdoors rain or shine, exploring, eating blackberries, getting dirty and doing risky play. Great to have happy children

Another wonderful week filled with lots of adventures, nature walks where blackberries were picked and I am sure most were eaten 😂. Train track which led to over an hour of making and playing. So of course we had to make a train out of old boxes for role playing. Using our sand pit as a tuff tray, pouring and spooning pasta this week. Baking seems to be a winner, lovely oatie cookies and we had enough blackberries picked to make a blackberry jam. We are such a lucky class.

A great first week back, lots of time playing outdoors, baking, dancing, arts and crafts and lots of free play. Aren't we so lucky.
