We as humans have the ability to ignore what's going on in our bodies for a long time. We keep going and doing what we perceive we have to do often until our bodies break down and give us no choice but to stop and rest. I aim to rest before this happens but more often than not I push through and regret it later.
I find that going to my Craniosacral Therapist regularly for treatments helps me to reset, I feel much better physically and mentally afterwards and it helps me find a balance around work and rest.

A first Craniosacral therapy session is often a snapshot of what might be to come. Therapist and client are both new to working with one another.
The first session is about getting to know one another, experiencing what might be possible, making a decision about whether this way of working is the best fit for a client.
If I as a therapist feel that I can help with what the client is presenting to me then generally I will recommend a course of treatments. Occasionally I won't if I don't feel I can offer value to that client for whatever reason.
Craniosacral therapy isn't a quick fix but the results after a course of treatments can be profound and long lasting.
Some clients will go on about their business and I might not see them again but some will return periodically when they feel they need to.

How can Craniosacral Therapy help me?
Craniosacral Therapy works with the fascia(connective tissue) of the body to help release tension and restrictions.
Practitioners will use a very light touch to assess and engage the body's own healing mechanism to release restrictions in the tissue with the end goal of creating harmony and balance in the body.
This can mean a feeling of wellbeing, a reduction in pain in the body, relief from a whole host of other symptoms physical and emotional.

Vertigo...... A condition I have seen a number of clients for lately. Generally described as a feeling of the room spinning around you.
The most recent client related a fear of moving/turning her head, lying down flat, turning over in the bed at night due to feeling dizzy and nauseous if she did so.
After a course of treatments she has seen a complete disappearance of the symptoms. A fantastic result.
It is such a privilege to be able to help people on a daily basis with issues big and small.
Craniosacral therapy can be helpful in alleviating many issues and managing others.
If you have something you would like help with please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss...

What does a Craniosacral Treatment look like? For any new client coming in for treatment there are a few parts to this. Often people have a vision in their head that looks a little like a massage but a Craniosacral therapy session looks a little different.
First I will take a case history and get the paperwork out of the way.
I will ask you to remove your belt and shoes and any items that are in your pockets so that they don't impact on what your fascia feels like under my hands.
Then you will lie up on the plinth on your back and we can go to work.
I will gently place my hands on various places on your body at your legs, torso and head to get a feel for what's going on for you.
I will ask some questions around the reason you have come to me for a treatment to get a clearer picture of what is going on for you.
Clients will generally feel a sense of deep relaxation and occasionally fall asleep during a treatment. It can often look like there's not a lot going on but the majority of clients will feel a difference in themselves afterwards. For some it may be a few treatments in before the see a resolution in their original issue.
I advise clients to rest and drink plenty of water after a treatment to help their body adjust to any changes that have occured.
