were shortlisted for The Sustainable Rural Impact Award yesterday at the Spring Agriculture & Forestry Awards 2026. It was a lovely afternoon spent representing Meath Made with other members including Caoimhe Delany from We are Meath’s first official creative collective with over 40 members. The collective is made up of various crafters designers and artists. We have wood turning, pottery, weaving, ceramic artists, glass artists, soap makers, jewellery designers, artists, felting, crochet and much much more. The “Why” Behind My Work!

People often ask where my inspiration comes from…It always comes back to home.

Growing up on a small farm in rural Ireland shaped everything I create — the characters, the animals, the land, the stories woven into Irish history. I feel a constant pull to explore the essence of who we are and express that on canvas.

I’m especially drawn to old black-and-white photographs, quiet, frozen moments in time. I love reimagining them in bold, unexpected colour and texture breathing new life into the past and bridging it with the present.

Colour is everything to me. Heavy texture. Palette knife layers. Oils & cold wax. Acrylic built up with feeling. Colour brings emotion. Identity. Life. It says what words sometimes can’t.

I’m always learning, refining, evolving - but the heart of it stays the same:

I want my work to reconnect us with who we are. To celebrate Ireland — our resilience, warmth, humour and land and in the world we’re living in today, I think we need that more than ever.

That’s my why 💛Thank you for being here and supporting my journey.
