Pause and reassess if you notice:

🫸Unexpected patient pain or signs that don’t match the planned treatment, 🫸or Any uncertainty in medical history.

When in doubt, defer treatment, document the concern, and arrange review or referral.

What is Sculptra and how is it different from other hyaluronic acid fillers?

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) injectable that works as a collagen stimulator rather than a short-term volumiser.

When injected into the deep dermis, PLLA microparticles act as a scaffold that encourages fibroblasts to make new collagen, so improvement is gradual and builds over time.

Common short-term reactions may include swelling, redness and bruising, there is a documented risk of lumps or nodules if injections or aftercare aren’t optimal, so experience and technique matter. Being transparent about the facts are so important to me as an aesthetician.

Important precautions: Sculptra is not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding, and a full consultation should discuss medical history and realistic expectations.
