This is a classic case of ensuring we don’t apply Roman proportions to all faces. The lateral view Naso-mental line in Caucasian faces typically aims to position the nose and chin and/or lip touching the line. As evident from the images, this would create a disproportionate “witchy” chin in our patient. 1ml of Definisse core injected on the bone and deep fat plane on the midline adds a subtle projection. Natural results, up to 12 months longevity.

I am aware of a video posted by Dr. Lisa Cunningham (Guthrie) containing false and misleading claims about my clinical practice.

The patient in question was treated promptly and appropriately, the incident was reported to the manufacturer, discussed with their medical team and the ACE World Group, and no further reporting was recommended. The HPRA has confirmed that reporting to them is not a legal requirement.

At no stage did Dr. Cunningham contact me for clarification before making these public accusations, which is contrary to the Medical Council’s Guide to Professional Conduct and Ethics. Moreover, blackmail, “unwarranted demands with menaces”, is a criminal offence under Irish law.

For transparency, I have attached the incident report with all sensitive patient data redacted to ensure confidentiality and GDPR compliance.

It still amazes me after all my years of injecting how such a small amount of dermal filler can make such an enormous impact on mid-lower face ageing. As we age we lose support in our face as pad volume redistributes and draws the face downwards. The first stage to rectify this is replace volume in the zogoma and media cheek planes and soften the nosalobial folds and marionette lines. HA Dermal filler is resersible under the care of a prescribing aesthetic physician with an excellent safety profile. Results typically last 9-12 months. Subtlety is the aim of the game here.
