In case you missed it, Galway medical tech company Aerogen to create 725 jobs.👇 A Galway-based medical technology company is to increase its workforce by over 700 people as part of a multi-million euro expansion programme.

Aerogen specialises in the development and production of aerosol drug delivery.

Details of the new roles were announced to coincide with the publication of Enterprise Ireland's annual report, which showed record employment levels at companies the agency supports.

In case you missed it, MSD to acquire WuXi Vaccines’ Dundalk site, and plans 1,000 jobs in coming years.👇 MSD plans to expand operations at the Dundalk site by adding 150 new roles.

US multinational pharmaceutical company MSD has today (6 January) announced the acquisition of WuXi Vaccines’ Dundalk site. The acquisition signifies an investment of more than €500m and comes off the back of a €1bn investment into its Carlow Town and Dunboyne sites.

MSD currently employs roughly 3,000 professionals in eight locations across Ireland and its plans to hire a further 1,000 people in counties Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Louth, Meath and Tipperary in the coming years.

The newly acquired Dundalk site is a three-story vaccine manufacturing facility designed for drug substance manufacturing, drug product manufacturing and quality control in relation to the global supply of vaccine products. Currently 200 people work at the Dundalk premises, with plans for 150 additional roles to be located here.

In case you missed it, Clare-based Vitalograph further expands operations in Mid-West.👇 Healthcare firm Vitalograph is to open new premises in Ennis and Limerick as it marks five decades of operating in Ireland's Mid-West.

The respiratory diagnostic company has been based in Ennis since 1974. In 2022, it announced the opening of new sites in Ennis and Limerick, with the creation of 200 jobs. Today, the company employs almost 600 people worldwide, with 404 located in Ireland.

In case you missed it, Suir Engineering announces 200 new jobs and a first-of-a-kind apprenticeship training centre in Ireland. 👇Suir Engineering, one of Ireland’s largest engineering services providers, has announced the creation of 200 jobs and the launch of a pioneering Apprentice Centre of Excellence, which will support the state’s SOLAS training programmes.

In case you missed it, BioMarin Pharmaceutical invests €60m in Cork expansion.👇 Biotechnology company BioMarin Pharmaceutical is investing €60m in the expansion of its facility in Shanbally, Co Cork.

The company, which employs more than 500 people in Ireland, said the addition of a new, four-storey laboratory facility will enable it to increase production capacity for currently approved medicines and create room for future growth.

BioMarin develops and commercialises targeted therapies that address the root cause of genetic conditions. Its Irish operations include its manufacturing site in Shanbally, as well as a commercial office in Dublin.

In case you missed it, Pharma giant Janssen seeking to expand Ringaskiddy manufacturing site.👇 The Ringaskiddy facility been in operation since 2005 and currently employs around 700 people.

Pharmaceutical giant Janssen has sought permission to expand its manufacturing site in Ringaskiddy.

The company is seeking planning to construct a two-storey extension next to its production building, comprising a floor area of 294 square metres.

Janssen Sciences Ireland said the proposed development will facilitate the installation of new equipment to replace end-of-life appliances.

The proposed development also includes the adjustment to adjacent hard-standing and kerbing, repositioning of Janssen’s existing Liquid Nitrogen Enclosure, provision of drainage and site service connections and associated site works.

In case you missed it, Cara Partners to create 60 Cork jobs from €130m investment. 👇 The new jobs will be created over the next four years in the areas of management, production and IT.

Cara Partners, a bulk pharmaceutical manufacturer, has announced a €130m investment into its Little Island facility in Cork and an expansion of its workforce.

The company – a member of the Germany-based Schwabe Group – expects to create 60 new highly skilled jobs over the next four years through this major investment, which is being supported by IDA Ireland.

Recruitment for the new roles is expected to begin “shortly” and will include management, production and IT jobs, according to IDA.

In case you missed it, Hovione to create 20 new jobs with pharma investment in Cork.👇 The company has revealed plans for a multimillion-euro investment in its facility in Ringaskiddy.

Portuguese pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing company Hovione has today (25 November) announced the creation of at least 20 new jobs amid a multimillion-euro investment into its Cork facility.

Founded in 1959 and with locations in the US, the UK, Europe and Asia, Hovione offers consumers a range of services for the development and manufacturing of drugs. As well as generating 20 highly skilled jobs, the Cork expansion will also almost double the capacity of Hovione’s spray drying facilities in Ireland. This technology is particularly important in the development of inhalable therapies and oral medications with low bioavailability.

In case missed it, 330 new Dublin jobs as West Pharmaceutical Services announces expansion.👇 US firm West Pharmaceutical Services has announced the creation of 330 roles as part of an expansion of its manufacturing site in Damastown in Dublin.

West Pharmaceutical Services provides innovative, high-quality injectable solutions and services and its expansion in Dublin is supported by IDA Ireland.

The company's expansion plan includes the construction of a new 165,000 sq ft, building in response to increased demand for manufacturing solutions and drug delivery services to support treatments for chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.

The company said it expects to start phase one of commercial production in the new building by the end of 2024.

West said the new roles include jobs in automation, process, validation, quality and maintenance engineers and technicians, as well as production supervisors and operators, toolmakers and operations leads. Recruitment has already started.

In case you missed, 250 new jobs announced at Leitrim medtech company.👇 The company is the biggest employer in the county and plan to employ close to 1,000 people locally by 2026.

Freudenberg Medical is hiring the staff to work at its newly expanded facility in Carrick-on-Shannon aiming to bring the total number employed on site to 950 by 2026.

The company develops and manufactures minimally invasive medical devices, with a major expansion recently adding 16,500 square feet to their Leitrim operations.
