Tracht Psychotherapy Foundation Trácht Psychotherapy Foundation is based in the west of Ireland, with locations in Kinvara and Galway City Centre, offering therapy and training since 1989

Since it’s beginning in 1989, Trácht has trained over 240 students to Diploma level, many of whom have gone on to establish independent practices as nationally accredited psychotherapists throughout Ireland. Others have brought their qualification and learned skills to existing positions in the health and social services. Trácht has also implemented transformative work in the area of Integrative P

sychotherapy and promoted mental health nationally, and there is a growing interest among healthcare professionals and the wider public in the role the body has in leading to psychological wellbeing and personal transformation. The Centre for Biodynamic & Integrative Psychotherapy was founded in 1989 by Sr. Kathy Cunningham, BA Psych, IAHIP and is one of Ireland’s most respected training centres for Integrative Psychotherapists. Patrick Sell, CABP, UKCP, IAHIP, joined the project in 1990 and worked with Kathy until 1998. In 2000 the training school became a company, (The Centre for Biodynamic & Integrative Psychotherapy Ltd), owned by Patrick Sell and Terezinha Sell. The centre continues to operate under their ownership and is managed by Peter Thompson and Patrick Sell. In 2009, twenty years after it’s inception, the organisation changed its name to Trácht Psychotherapy Foundation. Under the new management structure it is envisaged that the centre will continue to offer a professional Diploma training for aspiring Psychotherapists and a wider range of services. Tracht has recently established a base in Galway City Centre and is about to apply for accreditation with IACP. The original centre is located at Trácht Beach, Kinvara, Co. Galway. It is situated 100 meters from the beach with stunning views of the Burren as it’s backdrop. It is an inspiring place to train as a Psychotherapist and many students have drawn inspiration from the ancient landscape of the Burren. The towns of Kinvara and Ballyvaughan are nearby and offer an array of Pubs, restaurants and hotels as well as B&B’s.
