Soul Loss/Soul Retrieval
What does “Soul Loss” mean, according to the author and Shamanic Practitioner Sandra Ingerman “The basic premise is whenever we experience trauma, a part of our vital essence separates from us in order to survive the experience by escaping the full impact of the pain”. Generally most of these fragmented parts return to the person after the incident. In some cases they do not, and this is probably because that part does not feel safe enough to return, perhaps more healing is required. Among some cultures there is a belief that Soul parts can be stolen, held by abusive persons, narcissists, and negative entities. Soul Loss can manifest as a consistent feeling of disconnection, emptiness, outbursts of rage, depression, eating disorders, addiction, numbness and incompleteness (to name but a few), and these situations are also causes for Soul Loss. The reasons for Soul Loss are numerous and varied. Soul fragments can leave, during times of stress, illness, surgery, an accident, sudden shocks, childhood experiences, bullying, abusive situations, and the death of a loved one. When Soul Loss has occurred it inevitably creates an imbalance within your system, it is a common source of illness, whether that is on the physical, mental, emotional or spiritual level. You often hear a person described as “they have never been the same since that incident, or they seem to have lost the will to live”, that is a sure indication that “Soul Loss” has occurred. You cannot literally lose your Soul, “Soul Loss” means that you lose access to the fullness of your vitality, or your vital core energy, and on some level you struggle. The term “Soul Retrieval” comes from the Shamanic Traditions of healing, and it is a very powerful form of Energy Medicine that heals Soul Loss. The Shaman travels or journeys on behalf of the client to the realm of the Lost Soul Parts to bring back Soul Parts that are willing to return. In some cases the Soul Parts are not ready to return, and may require further healing, or a guarantee from the client that they will be nurtured properly. Some Psychotherapists, highly experienced Spiritual Healers, and certain Bodyworker’s can also provide assistance in cases of Soul Loss. Part of my speciality as a Shamanic Practitioner is Soul Retrieval and also working with babies that are experiencing certain traits of “Soul Loss”, they may be unwell, unable to sleep or settle, and this can be due to an interfering “Ancestral Energy” that is seeking assistance.
