POV: you pull a card and your first reaction is "that does not apply to me."

That reaction is the reading.

Your brain is wired to protect the beliefs it's already built its whole worldview around. When a card lands and something in you goes "nope, not me" - that's not discernment. That's a belief defending itself.

The card didn't get it wrong. Your perception just told on itself.
This is what oracle cards are actually for - not predicting the future, but showing you where your own thinking is running the show.

Slowing down with oracle cards does not mean what most people think it means.

Most people think it means a longer session. More cards. More ritual. More time with the guidebook.

It does not.

It means being present for exactly 90 seconds.

The moment a card lands face up - there is a window. Roughly 90 seconds where your first instinct is completely clear. Before the second-guessing. Before the guidebook. Before your analytical mind builds a case for something slightly more comfortable than what actually arrived.

In that window - you already know.

That is what slowing down means.

Not longer. Not more.

Just present enough to hear what arrives before you talk yourself out of it.
