Happy Easter everybunny 🐰🥚

We’re not saying chocolate eggs don’t count as protein…
…but if you eat them standing up in the kitchen, they’re basically invisible calories, right? 👀

Go on, show us your Easter eggs…
Are we talking artisanal dark chocolate with a hint of sea salt…
or I blacked out and now there’s foil everywhere? 😅

No judgement here — just real life, real food, and maybe a few sneaky eggs along the way.

Drop a 🐣 if you’ve already started…
and be honest… how many eggs are we actually talking? 😜

“Eating healthy” doesn’t have to be complicated… but we’ve made it that way.

We’re told to eat superfoods from the other side of the world…
Follow rigid plans…
Track, weigh, measure everything…

And yet… we still feel tired, bloated, and stuck.

Here’s what most women aren’t told 👇

Your body responds best to food that grows in season, where you live.

It’s not random.
It’s not trendy.
It’s biology.

☀️ Summer gives you hydrating, cooling foods
🍂 Autumn brings grounding, nourishing foods
❄️ Winter supports immunity and strength
🌱 Spring gently resets and energises

When you eat this way, you’re not forcing your body…
You’re working with it.

And when you combine that with understanding your body type and hormones?

That’s when things finally start to click.

No extremes.
No restriction.
Just real food, at the right time, for your body.

✨ Simple. Sustainable. Effective.

We don’t need more diets…
We need better understanding.

Irish Mammy vs Modern Diet Culture

“Diet advice on the internet…”

“Every week there’s a new diet…”

❌ Cut carbs
❌ Only eat protein
❌ Intermittent fast
❌ Detox cleanse
❌ Green juice diet

I can hear my mam and nan both saying
“Would you stop reading that nonsense and eat your dinner.”

Maybe Mammy knew something…

🥔 potatoes
🥬 cabbage
🥕 carrots
🥣 stew

Before diet fads… we had real food.
Stop following fads.
Start feeding your body properly.

Happy St Patrick’s Day 🍀

Before diet trends, detox teas, and protein powders…

Irish kitchens were already full of nourishing food.

Potatoes
Cabbage
Carrots
Soups
Stews

Sometimes the old ways were the smart ways.

At Breaking Fads we help you learn how to eat for your body — no gimmicks, no extremes.

Top Tip: Share the Salad 🥗

One of the simplest habits I’ve noticed across Europe is the humble shared salad on the table. Not as a sad side dish… but as something everyone dips into throughout the meal.

It does three powerful things:

✨ Adds flavour – fresh herbs, good olive oil, lemon, vinegar, nuts, seeds and vegetables instantly brighten a meal.
✨ Boosts nutrients – a simple salad adds fibre, minerals, antioxidants and healthy fats that many meals are missing.
✨ Supports digestion – bitter leaves, raw vegetables and acidity help stimulate digestive enzymes so your body can process food more comfortably.

It’s a small habit that makes a big difference to how you feel after eating.

A simple bowl of rocket, tomatoes, cucumber, olive oil and lemon alongside dinner can transform a plate.

Sometimes the most powerful nutrition habits are also the simplest.

Turnip, Neeps or Swede? 👀

Tell us you’re Irish, Scottish or English… without telling us 😜

That sturdy purple-and-cream beauty in the photo — what do you call it?

🇮🇪 In Ireland
Often called a turnip (or “yellow turnip”)
Mashed with butter at Christmas
Served alongside roast dinners
Comfort food at its finest

🏴 In Scotland
It’s a turnip
And when it’s on the plate with haggis?
They’re called neeps
As in “neeps and tatties” — an absolute classic

🏴 In England
It’s usually a swede
Because technically… it is
Sweeter, yellow flesh, denser than a true white turnip

🌱 The small white, peppery one?
That’s the actual turnip.

Food names are wonderfully tribal.
One vegetable. Three identities. Strong opinions all round.

From a health point of view?
This humble root is:
✔ High in fibre
✔ Rich in vitamin C
✔ Brilliant for gut health
✔ Naturally satisfying and steady for blood sugar

Real food. No gimmicks. No drama. Just nourishment.

Now go on…
What do you call it where you’re from?

Irish? Scottish? English?
We’ll know by your answer 😜

Jacket potato, but make it proper comfort food 🥔🌶️

Crispy spud, rich vegan chilli, fresh salsa and a crunchy side salad — simple, filling and savage good.

This is the kind of dinner that looks fancy but is actually very little effort (we love that for us).

Would you go extra chilli or extra salsa?
Save this for midweek dinners 👉
