🔴 It is a benign non-cancerous growth that arises from the stratified squamous epithelium of the oral cavity including lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, palate, pharynx, larynx, or esophagus.

🟢 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙨

• They usually appear to be associated with human papillomavirus (HPV), mostly due to infections with types HPV-6 and HPV-11.

• Many factors can stimulate its growth like smoking, to***co chewing, alcohols, trauma, immunosuppression, or in patients suffering from GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease).

🟡 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙨

• It appears as an exophytic mass with cauliflower-like appearance that may be white, red, or normal in colour. The mass may be sessile or pedunculated.

• It is generally painless, however, it may interfere with eating or swallowing.

🔵 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩

To eliminate any symptoms or concerns about possible dysplastic changes, it can be treated by different modalities including cryotherapy, surgical excision or laser ablation.
