The Scientist and the Shaman:

I once read that the difference between a Shaman and a Scientist is that if that if they each wanted to study life on the bank of a river, the Scientist would do an indepth study of each element, each cell, each molecule. The Shaman would ask the Spirit of the Place what is is that allows them to live together in harmony and each of the pieces would whisper to him their piece of the truth and then the Shaman would allow the whole to speak - If the place was out of harmony he would ask what was needed at this time for them to come back into harmony and be at-one again. For none of us can exist without the other...
The truth cannot be found in the pieces but only in the Whole.

ten thousand grandmothers
from the twelve hundred corners of the Earth
walked out into the gap,
one breath deep
between the bullet and the flesh,
between the bomb and the family.
They told me
We cannot wait for governments.
There are no peacekeepers boarding planes.
There are no leaders who dare to say
every life is precious,
so it will have to be us.
They said
We will cup our hands around each heart.

Healing Trauma:

When she came to me, she was suffering from a trauma based syndrome that caused her to contact her body making in*******se very painful or even impossible.

We worked together for six months. She gently began to release the sexual trauma she held in her body, she learned to relax, expand and connect to the beauty of the life force that flowed through her and filled her.

A year later, at the end of our journey, she was ecstatic to discover she was pregnant - I cried when she told me that the baby's name was Shaun.

שמעתי פעם, שבכדי להיות צ'ף, אאדם שכבר הוכיח את עצמו כלוחם חייב לעבור חניכה נוספת בכדאי להוכיח שהוא בשל להנהיג את השבט.

הוא נדרש לצאת לטקס שנקרא: חיפוש חזון - Vision Quest.
הוא יושב לבד בטבע, בלי אוכל ושתיה, ארבע יומיים ולילות, עד שאגו נחלש, ההגנות קורסות והמהות שלו נחשף. רק אז הוא פוגש את הציף והאמת שבו והופך לאדם שיודע להוביל ממקום של הקשבה ללב והדרכה מהרוח הגדולה.

וכשהוא חוזר מההר עם החזון שלו, ואנשי השבט מבטים בו הם רואים אדם שלם,
גבר שנפתח אל החכמה השוכנת בו ויודעים שהוא מנהיג בעל חזון.
