Good morning, I am Dienke,a weight loss / nutritional consultant (in addition to working in medical research for over 15 years). As a weight loss / nutritional consultant I am active under the name Happy and Healthy Weight with Dienke. I guide adults and children who struggle with their weight, to get a better grip on their eating behaviour, so that they feel better about themselves. I do not participate in 'nutrition hypes' and do not work with pills, powders and meal replacements. What you do get from me is thorough nutritional advice, in which I substantiate how this came about, and you learn how to apply this step-by-step in your daily practice. Now more then ever its important to take good care of yourself.
Eat healthy foods. Learn what foods are good for you, and how much is the right amount. Take your time when you eat. Really taste your food. Enjoy it. Eating right helps you look your best. It gives you the energy you need. And it boosts your body image. When you treat your body right, you feel good about yourself.
Get good sleep. Learn how much sleep you need for your age. Get to bed on time. Turn off screens hours before bedtime so you can sleep well.
Be active every day. Your body needs to move to be strong, fit, and healthy. You can be active by playing a sport. You can run, walk, work out, do yoga, swim, or dance. Pick activities you like. Enjoy the fun you can have.
Keep to a healthy weight. Being a healthy weight is good for you. And it helps you feel good about your body. But don't try to diet on your own. Always talk to your dietitian, doctor (or parent). Your dietitian can suggest ways you can keep to a weight that's right for you.

Like many others now in Israel I also now experience extreme emotions and stress.
Saturday the 7th of October we woke up with the tzofar and red alert alarms on the phone.
We waited hoping it would not reach our area but it did, Hoping it would be just a few "lost missiles".
We spent most of that day in the shelter. During this period the horrible news came in about what was going on in the direct Gaza area. The sounds of missing and killed family members. The fear. The call came for the reserve army. My husband has to go.
What about us, what about our daughter. Luckily we have family in a “saver” part of the country so the decision was made to travel there the next day.
The risk of literally driving through a war zone. But we are safe now.
It doesn't take away my fear, my worries. My husband is still gone, the war is still going.
Family members are still gone, and only now the horrors of what happened that morning comes out. The hate towards us is still growing.
I can't be the calm and collective person I normally am.

I'm sharing tips on how to just get by. Tips I received after asking for help. You don't need to be ok, We are NOT OK but hopefully we get through it this way together just a bit better.

Block people and groups that give you anxiety and/or not share your cause.
Get your information from a few reliable sources.
Get of social media if you feel it doesn't help you
It’s Ok to not watch the News all day.
It's Ok to not be perfect now, If you feel like you can't parent now its ok to put netflix on.
It's not a time to start new good habits.
It's ok to be angry.
It’s ok to cry
It’s ok to be afraid
It's OK, even though others might suffer or have suffered worse, your emotions are valid.
