בשיתוף עם I-NEXT -המרכז למחקר, פיתוח וחדשנות של המרכז הרפואי תל אביב ע״ש סוראסקי ( איכילוב).

בכנס ייקחו חלק מומחים מובילים מרפואה, מחקר , הנדסה, תעשייה וחלל 🪐 - כולם יפגשו על במה אחת לדבר על האופן בו רפואת תעופה אווירית וחלל מעצבים את עתיד הבריאות בחלל וגם על פני כדור הארץ🌎.

OUR GAYA IS A NASA GLOBAL NOMINEE! 🚀✨
Stop scrolling and give a huge virtual round of applause for Gaya Zadok, one of our incredible students, who just crushed the NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2025!
Gaya’s project was chosen as a Global Nominee, that means it’s in the top group out of over 11,500 projects from around the world! 🤯
What did they build? A brilliant system that takes the waste from MOXIE (the oxygen machine on Mars) and turns it into life-sustaining resources for astronauts: fertilizer for food, materials for preservation, and fuel for power. Talk about thinking outside the box!

🧬 IAsMA Expert Talk | Stem Cell Research and Biomanufacturing in Space

We are honored to welcome Dr. Arun Sharma, Assistant Professor and Director of the Center for Space Medicine Research at Cedars-Sinai, for an exclusive session exploring how stem cell science is being redefined in space. 🌌

In this talk, Dr. Sharma will discuss how microgravity is transforming our understanding of cell growth and tissue regeneration, from reprogramming induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) aboard the ISS into heart and nerve cells, to advancing the future of biomanufacturing beyond Earth.

גיא הוא סטודנט שנה רביעית להנדסת אווירונאוטיקה וחלל. דרכו מדגישה את החיבור החזק בין הנדסה לרפואת חלל ומראה כיצד טכנולוגיה ועמידות אנושית הולכים יד ביד.

🚀 במסגרת עבודתו בארה”ב בפרויקט AstroRad של חברת StemRad ווסט מגן קרינה לאסטרונאוטים. גיא ראה מקרוב כיצד פתרונות הנדסיים יכולים להגן על בריאות האדם בסביבות קיצון. החוויה הזו פתחה בפניו את ההבנה עד כמה רפואת חלל תלויה בחדשנות הנדסית.

💡 מעבר לכיתה, גיא בוחן את גבולות היכולת האנושית דרך אולטרה מרתונים של 100 מייל וטריאתלוני סיבולת, מצבים שמעמידים את הגוף במבחן דומה לזה של אסטרונאוטים בחלל: הסתגלות, התמדה ויכולת לשגשג בתנאים קיצוניים.

🌍 עבור גיא, זו בדיוק המהות של IASMA: חיבור בין חדשנות, רפואה וביצועי גוף האדם כדי להרחיב את גבולות האפשרי, כאן על פני כדור הארץ וגם בחלל.

LIFT OFF 🚀

IAsMA member, Ken Cohen recently had the incredible opportunity to support NASA’s Crew-11 launch as part of the medical contingency team.

The SpaceX Crew-11 mission successfully launched this past Friday, July 31, from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft, four astronauts, representing NASA, JAXA, and Roscosmos, began their journey to the International Space Station.

Ken kindly shared a few behind-the-scenes images and insight from his experience.
