We’re excited to welcome Aya Tal-mason as our next Journal Club speaker!

Aya is a graduate student researcher at the MGH Center for Space Medicine Research and an incoming master’s student at BU Medical School, on a path to becoming a physician.

She’ll share how studying drug response in space, where gravity is no longer a constant, is opening new possibilities for understanding muscle regeneration and developing therapies that could improve health both in space and here on Earth. 💊🪐

Moderated by Taylor Lonner, PhD student in Bioastronautics at the University of Colorado Boulder, this student-led session explores how research beyond our planet is helping tackle real health challenges back home.

🧠 Curious about bioastronautics?
💡 Interested in how space research drives innovation in medicine?

🗓️ July 27 at 18:00 (Israel time)
📍 Virtual | Free & open to the public for this session only!

Last week, our CEO joined to share IAsMA’s mission: advancing the field of aerospace medicine in Israel and building a strong, multidisciplinary community around it.

“Aerospace medicine isn’t just about space,” Summer said during the interview. “It’s about using what we learn from extreme environments to push the boundaries of healthcare here on Earth.”

At IAsMA, we’re bringing together professionals from medicine, physiology, engineering, and space sciences to explore how spaceflight impacts the human body—and how that knowledge can lead to real-world innovation.

We’re grateful to everyone supporting this journey. Whether you’re a student, researcher, or space enthusiast, if you care about science, medicine, and the future of human health, we’d love to have you with us.
