Right to Health
With decreasing internet costs, smartphones are getting cheaper every day, world economies are booming, the number of MNC’s are increasing exponentially and men are now planning for Mars. Still, we are failed to provide basic public healthcare amenities to all. 25% of death in India is due to lack of medical attention, India is ranked 138 out of 193 countries, even below Srilanka and Bangladesh, in Human Development Index. We are focussed on tertiary health cure instead of preventive public health care. Still, the parents are more serious about the health of their male wards compared to their female counterparts. Government public health infrastructure is completely failing due to mismanagement, corruption and lack of proper implementation of different schemes whereas private healthcare is quite costly, lack of quality, preferring overdosing and over-clinical trials resulting in an individual to be financially handicapped and complete loss of hope in the medical system.
Generic medicines brought some hope to lower the cost of medicines but the government schemes, doctor’s commission systems and publicity of their branded counterparts play the key role in suppressing the bit of possibility. India is the largest exporter of generic medicines in terms of volume worldwide and is ranked 3rd in terms of value, but still, when it comes to domestic usage, we use only 5% of the total as generics. All thanks to the rising concerns of the quality of the domestic generic medicines. Where the world is believing in our quality, our so-called philosophers and think-tank found them unsuitable for our consumption.
We only need right to education and right to express after ensured and completely implemented right to health.
